Looking on ebay and I can get a LS1 tb for cheaper then I could get a 62mm tb.. just wondering if this is worth while on a N/A motor?. I'm building a motor over the winter, but nothing crazy, just somthing to run a 75-100shot every now and then.. anybody ran a LS1 on a N/A ecotec?

Ummm, no. There are quite a few people running them on BOOSTED engines, but i cant think of one person running on a N/A engine.

I mean it'll work if you're tuned, but why? the 75 is on the edge of creating a throttle that isnt even useable, ie its on the edge of becoming an on/off switch, which irrc I ran the math on a typical bolt on car for this engine and it was like 80mm where that effect happened.

Oh and you're going to need either an intake manifold thats not stock and doesnt have stock throttle body placement or you will need an elbow between the throttle body and the intake manifold because you just wont have enough clearnece on the hood to fit the LS1 tb and an adapter plate.

ok, very good info!!.. guess the 62mm would be a better choice then, I'll have to shop around for one

karo ran it on his motor that made 259whp. paul runs a northstar 75mm on his motor that made 201whp.

id say its definitely not hurting anything. might be a bit overkill but i see hondas with that range power doing the same size.
