A friend did the same on his GN by putting a turnbuckle on the waste-gate linkage. It might have over-sped the turbo a bit, but the result was the same... And he didn't need a wrench to adjust it!
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
I made my own before and it worked just fine. Couple of parts from Ace Hardware and I was all good.
