OK, so I have been on this forum for awhile now and have made a few posts about performance mods and stuff relating to it. And have decided that the first thing I am going to do to my sunfire this summer(since I have no garage) is do a 2.2(LN2) to a 2.4(LD9) swap. I have looked in the library here and I found this:
Swapping a 2.2L OHV to 2.4L DOHC
This is exactly what you need and you will also need the PCM out of a manual or just get your friends VIN number or someones that has a manual and take yours to dealership and they will reprogram it.
*2.4L engine (obviously!)
*2.4L tranny
*Tranny mounts
*bolts for the tranny mounts
*bolts that go through the mounts
*Chassis brackets (need to be MIG or TIG welded)
*Flywheel
*Flywheel to crank bolts
*Pressure plate
*pressure plate to flywheel bolts
*clutch plate
*alignment tool
*slave cylinder
*Both axels
*Complete front wiring harness(different sensors)
*ECU reprogrammed by GM
*Shifter
*shifting cables
*shifting cables bracket
*bolts to mount shifting cable bracket
*clutch pedal
*master cylinder with reservoar and lines
So after I read this I was like holy crap I didn't realize I needed the entire drive train and shifting assembly. I can see the wiring needing to be changed and my ECU reprogrammed, and the mounts changed cause they are different motors. But since this is a old thread(2006) I thought I would ask you all specifically those who have done the mod themselves, if there is anything on here that I can substitute with my 2.2(LN2) parts. My car is a 2002 Manual transmission, I would be getting a motor and tranny from a 2000-2002 because the compression is 9:7:1.
Thanks
I am looking for struts for my newly aquired Eibach pro-kit performance coils, If anybody has some?
really?

Trans mounts are the same, shifter cables the same, axels are the same,
Clutch hydraulics are the same
Clutch pedal is the same
To bolt the ld9 in, you need
Ld9 engine
Ld9 manual trans
Ld9 upper motor mount
Ld9 radiator and hoses
Ld9 flywheel and clutch assembly
Ld9 engine harness
Ld9 ecu
that list is not all inclusive, but a rough list of stuff needed.

Edited... If you are already manual, and plan on staying manual, then you are good.
