Is it worth putting a header on my 2001 Z24?

So I already have a CAI on, what would I get out of putting a header on the car with a stock exhaust? Also is there any free mods or any other mods that I can do that aren't very very expensive?

the exhaust is only as good as its weakest link. so.. if you put a header on it will scavenge the exhaust out of the head MUCH better but as soon as you hit that stock muffler most of not everything you gained is going to be wasted.

weight reduction is free!

i have the ecotec motor but when i put the header on my car attached to the stock exhaust (yes, even stock muffler), my elapsed time at the dragstrip dropped about 2 tenths of a second consistantly. i'd definitely give it a try and worse case scenario you just finish the exhaust lol

I say do it. But plan on getting a full exhaust next mod. Having a header on it just feels good.

i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick

my 2001 cavi sounds nasty with and RK sport 4-2-1 header but i then again have a full vibrant along with that so do it but be sure to not hope for a big change in sound or in performance with out the rest of the exhaust there
