Shop called, apparently a couple of the brand new piston rings sealed in-package that came with my Wiseco .020" over piston kit are damaged. One is broken in half and another is all rusty.. wtf?
Of course since the pistons are oversize, I won't be able to just get some locally.. where can I get .020" over LD9 piston rings ASA
MFP?

I had the same problem
You can order the ring direct from wiseco part# 9050XX
Location: Montreal, Quebec
Sorry about the massive amounts of non-premium "edit" posts.
NAPA doesn't stock either of them locally at all. SOL.

thank god you got the wiseco ones... really though you should have measured the ring grooves for exact size then put the order in. if you order any rings from total seal you'd better have all those measurements or you wont be getting rings for custom pistons lol
wear can enlarge the grooves too so just getting a replacement set might not be exacting.

I did... notice the "(w/major failures)" in my signature track time, heh. I messed up my fancy pistons, walls, melted the head, etc. All my fault and it will never happen again. This time it's overbored, thicker head gasket, and every surface precision machined. I had a feeling my head was cracked or pistons were damaged long before (during one of my previous head gasket jobs).
-Z Yaaaa- wrote:and $34 was just for the replacement ones that were damaged or a full set?
A set for one cylinder. $24 part price, $10 for overnight shipping. I seem to get way cheaper prices when done over the phone with Wiseco.
Here's the moly ring that was rusted straight from the sealed packaging.. very strange. Bought the set off a member on here that had them NIB sitting around.

I have just various misc. extra rings, no complete sets or anything..,,
Wiseco overnighted those rings for me and one ended up being bent. So they overnighted another new set to me and they should be coming in any minute now.
