motor problems

Why does the LD9 have such a bad rap? When I first looked into buying my car my dad did some research on the motors and was told by people that new alot about the motors that were put into j-bodies. All he ever told me was that the 2.4 had big problems with blowing head gaskets? is this true or what?

I am looking for struts for my newly aquired Eibach pro-kit performance coils, If anybody has some?

Not as much so as the old true quad motors. Find a car that was taking care of and should have no worries. I personally have 188,000 miles on my 98z and still runs strong.

Double post doh, if you do end up getting one, and has over 100k, make sure to see proof of new waterpump and timing chain, that's the problem area around that mileage. Good luck with your choice.

lol typical idiot garage mechanic. the "quad 4" was notorious for cracking heads. the "twin cam" is a completely re-designed engine and pretty much never does or has head gasket issues as long as everything was installed properly.

the "twin cam" is the one notorious for throwing rods and spinning rod bearings though...
