You know what i mean by ebay header. I found a sunfire at a picknpull yard and didnt want to buy it till I was sure it was of good quality. Basically my question is; Does this look like a good quality header?

How much would it cost? Can't really tell from that pic what brand it is. That corner seems to be ok. Are there any cracks in it?
I'm going to say the only way to know if it is good is to pull it off and check for any leak sources, make sure the flange is straight, and check the full thing over real good.
It would cost me $25.99 I did not notice any cracks on the manifold. Is there any possibility that the flange might be cast? the surface of the flange had a "cast" look to it and that is why I left it. going to go back tomorrow and double check it again.

it looks like it was custom made with the flange. semi pacesetter?
Looks like a OBX header actually.
2009 Ford Mustang V6
So it might be worth my while to get it for $26? Providing it is crack free.

i thought obx made a knock off pacesetter, making it a "pacesetter" style header.

You speak the truth....
Most of the 2200/2.2 headers are of "Pacesetter" style.
For $26 why not.
Looks like a ebay or obx to me. Then you have a lot of people knocking, saying you get what you pay for. How ever you get what you pay for as far as pacesetter goes as well. They were the only ones that had a set for my 95 trans am like 6 years ago, besides hooks. I ended up going with the painted headers at the time as it was 400 for the headers and 200 for the y-pipe. Four months later they were rusted to no end. Along with after a year when I took them off they were eating from the inside out. The coated ones will do the same thing if drug or anything. Followed by isn't really worth what you pay for it.
3 years ago when I did my swap in my 99 sunfire, everyone was knocking the headers on here from ebay. How ever since I needed a new down pipe I went with a ebay stainless header. Been on the car since with full 2.5 back. The 2.5 doesn't even use the front hangers right behind the cradle, so the header supports it all. After the 3 years on the car and 50k or so miles, looks like it did when I put it on. Cept the fact it is purple, no cracks or leaks from the ball and socket. Stock 160k tranny mounts, with stock replacement motor mounts.
Also my flange on my ebay 2.4 header looks cast like that. I say nab it for the price, don't like it you won't be out much.
So how do you tell the difference between pacesetter and obx (besides any brand markings)?
I'm just curious here... i ditched my pacesetter knockoff OBX header years ago for a Ron's longtube header.

OBX or other brands like it are made of stainless where as Pacesetters come in one of two finishes but both are steel. One being painted black and then there is armour coated.

mmmm i heart my Ron header
In my opinion for $26 as long as the flanges are straight I say go for it.
If you spend the money on Pacesetter do not buy the black coating one. They F***ing blow!!! coating wears off almost instantly and looks like straight crap.
I bought a pacesetter for my 1989 mazda b2200 many years ago, it was coated in black, and like mentioned, burned off pretty quickly.

the difference between pacewetter and obx.. most of obx's headers are stainless and affordable. I would say if your going to purchase a pace setter just go with the obx and save some money and get the same quality but in stainless.
