ECOTEC question.
Saturday, March 10, 2012 10:42 PM
Here is a piece of curiosity I have. I am installing a K&N filter onto my car. Not the "upgraded" stock ones, but I am using a cone. We all know K&N uses oil in order to have the filter block out more particles. My question is, does the ECOTEC have a MAP or a MAF? I do notice something is connected to the tube that goes to the throttle, but I don't see a MAF like you would on a Nissan (which are notorious for MAFs). Am I safe from that issue? (that the oil from the K&N filter will eventually screw my air sensor) Or am I better off using an Apexi or a AEM cone??

This would be for both the Grand Am and Cavalier, they both have the L61

and the map is on the manifold...

you can run a K&N filter all day long without an issue.

This applies to ALL J-body engines
