Im building an 02 cavalier and found a 95 motor...I've notice the intakes are different...what else will I have to change to make the engine fit? Its for a circle track racecar so emissions are not a problem. Thanks for any help.
Nevermind...lol...it slipped my mind that the 95 is obd1 and the others are obd2 soI it would be a pain if possible at all
To put it very simply.... You will have to rewire the car back to the tail lights...
Lol yeah the whole obd 1 to obd 2 switch between 95 and 96 slipped my simple little mind lol
you also have the 99-00 wiring conversion... going across the 99-00 line in either direction is a wiring nightmare..
if its an ld9 as far as i know the only thing that is different is the knock sensor is a different size thread, and use high impedance injectors for the 99+ ecu. everything else is bolt on to the engine. The egr can be taken off and blocked off. you can use any ld9 motor in any year car that uses an ld9 motor and not have to change a whole lot. you can use a 99+ ld9 in a 95 but you need to use the 95 electronics.
oh 95 that might be a 2.3. 96+ should be ld9
I'm pretty sure he's talking about an LN2... but it could be an LD9/LD2
i keep forgetting about that motor lol
