Old 2.2 was totalled out. Picked up an 02 z24 5-speed and i'm really missing having an exhaust haha. I had a pacesetter header and a magnaflow oval muffler on the LN2 which sounded great.
bought the car with an annoying exhaust leak from the piping into the muffler so i think it's about time after 3 months. This time i want to run a full header back with a high flow cat and keep the stock header. Coming to you guys because I'm not sure if i should get the same muffler or not, and what to run for a resonator and how long (no cherry bomb glasspacks, although i see magnaflow has some now) i was thinking maybe vibrant? I know some of you guys really like the thunderbolt cat's so i was thinking about using one of those aswell.
I'd like it to be sort of loud but not unbearably loud, if that makes sense. just something people can hear me coming with but not sound like a riced out honda with a pep boy's fart cannon. also for piping size, i'm staying n/a because im getting a new job soon and i'll prob be looking for an ae86 to boost. Would it be more beneficial to run 2.5 piping anyway for a louder more throaty sound, or stick to the 2.25?
as for the muffler i see most like the dynomax super turbo, would that get me the sound i'm looking for or will it be relatively quiet? also, i'm not doing flow master, my friend has a grand am gt v6 with flowmaster 40's and my magnaflow on my LN2 sounded better than that. so im looking at either the dynomax super turbo, or the magnaflow oval i had (http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=9001) either 2.25 or 2.5 whatever i'm running on piping.

Not planning on boosting it. Keeping it n/a as a daily and doing some unique exterior mods for shows and stuff.
Basically just don't want rasp if the 2.5 will be louder and deeper tone thats fine as long as im not losing power.
I say super turbo muffler, will be quieter to start, but will get louder. Im running a high-flow cat from performance curve with no issues. I know you said no cherry bombs but my 30" worked for keeping the rasp away. I think it sounds pretty good. Has a little grumble at idle and gets louder as you get on it.

Yeah magnaflow apparently has glasspacks now so I might try one of those out.
