I found this dyno
here it is from IPerformance, stock exhaust, rksport 2 1/4" and then IP 2 1/2" it was actually a pretty good find
Check out their $12,000.00 computer for cavaliers?
I sure hope that is a typo.
wow I just saw that...wayyyy too much for a computer, you can get the AEM compter for 1200 and I
ll bet its evey bit as good as that one lol
Good read and enlightening
well now.. i dont believe i had ever seen this entire write-up before but i HAVE seen the dyno chart comparison.
pretty neat read. i love the attention to detail those guys over there put into this and have zero doubts as to the outcome.
i will say that this not only PROVES that 2 1/4 is a waste on a STOCK 2.4... i will go a bit further to say it definitely goes a lot more to show us that 3" on an n/a LD9 thats had extensive modding done is a good idea.
basically, im saying that if a STOCK LD9 responds better to 2.5" than the 2.25" why the hell would you run only 2.5" on a MODDED LD9?

Find another brand cat back in 2.5" to use. I wouldnt buy one from them. Wouldnt bother with the header either.
u can get bolt on 2.5" mandrel bent polished stainless cat back's on ebay for like $120 shipped. buy a nice magnaflow muffler to swap for the crap one they send and have one badass setup for less than $200. and thats IF you want it to be loud... can always go with a super turbo and or cobalt ss muffler if you want to stay quiet yet retain performance.

Nice write up for sure.
The power numbers go along with what I did back in the day with a crushed bent 2.25 cat back, and 57mm TB, and intake. I got 138whp.
I will stick with my crushed bent piping at the local shop. under $100 for 2.5 inhaust FTW.
I wish we had more write ups like this one with true hp numbers.

very interesting read and glad to see someone did a dyno comparison. I usually only see that on newer muscle/sports cars.
