the car is a 2001 cavalier z24, has upper engine knock sounds loudest towards exhaust cam. does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? anyone had experience with this issue? if so what causes this? thanks everyone for your help, and if this is posted in the wrong place please let me know....
Do you have a miss fire or anything of that nature? Any past over revs? It is in the wrong place it show go to the maintenance section but its all good.
2.2 ecotec (stock internals) typhoon k&n in take 2 inch drop springs
ok the car runs great no misfires nothing of that nature runs fine idles fine, just when you give it gas it sounds like upper end is knocking will take a video and upload later.
i'd pull the cam towers off and inspect the lifters and valves. make sure the lifters haven't exploded (or appear to about explode) and make sure none of the valves are bent...
when you pull the towers, make sure you pull the timing cover off and get the 4 bolts behind the two cam sprockets...
