Teflon tape or???
Tuesday, April 03, 2012 5:35 AM
Im installing my oil pressure gauge this week.

I usually have always used teflon tape on my installs but I recall someone on here saying to use some sort of paste instead? which is better and why?

I have used Teflon tape, and Loctite pipe sealant paste. Either will work. My Electrical Oil Pressure Sensor is recommended not to use tape.

I do not use the tape in anything that it would plug or get caught in, such as a restrictor for a turbo, oil pump etc... I use the paste for that. Learned from someone elses mistake.

Yep the tape has failed me more than once, never again. I have all paste now.
