After seeing "cavi2sunfire" using LAP pistons, I'm considering running the same if it's feasible. LAP pistons are $50 and change on GM Parts Direct, so it's a cheaper option than having custom ones made. Here are my couple questions that searching didn't tell me:
-Does anyone here run a high compression L61?
-What CR would LAP pistons yield?
-What is the wrist pin dia. on LAP pistons
-Could L61 rods be retained?'
-What codes could occur?
After I port my spare head and get ready to install it, new pistons may be on my to-do list if the shoe fits.
