I'm trying to remove my connecting rods. And the bolt holding them on threw me off. What type of socket do I need to take them off? Is it a standard spline socket or a special socket?
Its a 12 point nut. Its best to use a 12 poi.t socket. You may be able to remove with a 6 point but not sure as I've never tried.

just went outside and checked a spare rod i have laying around. its a 12 point 14mm socket. and no you can't use a 6 point socket.
Thanx I got a set from harbor freight. Now to swap em out for eagles. Thanks guys.
