odd... you knew how to cryotreet everything in the trans, but you can't search for LD9 pistons?..... Something doesn't add up here...
This is what you will need to do...
Ditch the clutch, the header, the downpipe, the cat, and the exhaust...
Search (this site) for the 2.3 Oil pump swap. Acquire all the parts needed (most is either avail through GM, aftermarket, or here (as used parts)), (The oil pump swap is a mandatory for 200 WHP and above because the stock oiling system cavatates the oil above 5800 rpm)
Contact one of our JBO Vendors (OEM, TTR, Karo(car customs), etc) and acquire high comp forged pistons (around 10.5:1 possibly 11:1 with the supercharger... 11-12:1 N/A)
--Forged Rods (such as eagle)
--Clevite 77 bearings
--ARP Main studs
--ARP Head Studs
--1 mm oversized valves
--bronze valve guides.
Now the tricky part... You'll need to search ebay, here, quad4forums, the various quad4 facebook groups, etc... Find yourself at least HO Cams (.410 lift .212 dur.) There are bigger cams, but they become even harder to find the bigger you go. HO Lifters and springs support up to .430 lift
You can use the HO Exhaust cam housing. You'll need to modify the Intake Cam to accept the PS Pump (which will involve cutting the cam short, and installing the hex insert to drive the pump). You'll also need to modify the Intake housing to accept the bigger HO Lifters... There are crower springs floating around this site, that eliminate this step, however, no body has yet to install them to a head and run them, so they are just a theory right now.
--- Go to GM and get 16 HO Valve Springs (do not cheap out and go aftermarket, you WILL NOT safely be able to rev past 7200 RPM), and 16 HO Lifters
--- Contact Scott (Lafngas) on here, and order a Bully Stage 4 clutch
--- Contact Ron S. (search here for Ron Header), and get the Ron Header
--- Contact Atomic (or any other exhaust vendor, for 3" reduced to 2.5" piping (N/A), or 3" piping super charged. Ron headers always have 3" out.
--- Go to Performancecurve and get a high flow cat... Its like $40 bucks and these don't have the history of breaking up like the magnaflows do when real power is put through em.
--- Check out any of the Cobalt sites, and search for used: LSJ Injectors, and LSJ Muffler. The LSJ muffler has been DYNO proven to flow equally to the magnaflow without the ricey fart can noise.
--- Contact OEM and get his M62 Supercharger to LD9 Intake Manifold Adaptor.
--- Find an M62 Supercharger (either used on a cobalt site, or new from GM) -- (NOTE: all supercharger related threads should be in the BOOST forum. Performance is for N/A builds)
--- Go to GM and get a total engine gasket kit...
--- Go to GM and get 4 AC Delco Platinum spark plugs
--- Go to GM and get the PCM reflashed for the supercharger (Do this ONLY IF YOU ARE SUPERCHARGED... Doing this N/a will cut your resolution in half when it comes to turning) You will also need the correct MAP sensor with this reflash.
--- Avoid Aluminum flywheels unless you want a good potential for noise...

Now pull the motor... Modify the block the the oil pump, have the machine shop shave 3-8 lbs off the crank, and install the oil pump gear, and have them balance the crank.
Then have them bore the cyls to whatever overbore forged pistons you get. Have them Balance the fully assembled rods and pistons. Install everything in the block
Modify the head, Get it fully ported and polished, bore the valve seats 1mm over, install everything in the head
Install everything, and IMMEDIATELY get the PCM HPTuned... You will need to change the injector constant with the LSJs to avoid fouling out your spark plugs within minutes.
start it up, drive it, tune it... enjoy above 200 WHP N/A or Supercharged...
