I have a 97 z24 and I am looking to do a n/a build on it. I have about 2k to work with. I already have full exhaust and a cold air intake with a tb spacer. What are your guys' suggestion for the low budget? Any help and insight is greatly appreciated.

DUDE.....he said he had 2k to work with...you just named like 5k worth of stuff
2k could get you a nice boost setup...but if you set on NA...
i suggest Rons header
head PnP
nice set of cams
thats about a grand or more worth of stuff alone and it doesnt even touch the bottom end.
still gonna want a tune, maybe some new valves and springs - i recommend an angle valve job to go with your PnP job
If you start getting into forged pistons, rods, oil pump swap, etc, be prepared to spend another 2k .... NA power isnt cheap
Wasn't trying to tell him he needs it all just giving him a variety of choices. Lol
It'd be awesome if he did do it all though.
Hey , scott, im not fully set on what I want yet. I want to go turbo, but idk how much these can handle. I assume a bottom end job at the very least.? My buddy has his stock turbo setup off of his neon. I was going to talk to him tonight, possible cheap pickup
The stock srt4 turbo? That turbo is one unit with the manifold, so even if there's a chance of it working , you would need to make some kind of an adapter. You'd be better off buying an ld9 manifold/and a turbo for that manifold IMO.
2000 Cavalier Z24 5spd - Intake, Dynomax muffler, Hawk Pads, Powerslot rotors, Sportlines/Koni reds, Neon Coil, MSD 8.5 Wires
2005 Mazda 3 GS Auto- Wifes car
2006 Cobalt SS/SC - Intake, 2.5" Exhaust, GMPP Brakes, Solid Mounts, Ported S/C - Sold
1991 GMC Sierra - Lifted on 38.5" Swampers, Too much to list off. For Sale
If you plan to boost, you'll need "Boost build suggestions" not N/A builds suggestions... You really don't want to go all out N/A and then slap a turbo on it...
