I started the assembly of my bottom end today and ran into a potentially small snag.
I noticed after screwing the main studs in that the top of them are above/below the pan flange surface.
Not a big deal on the # 1-4 mains. However, on #5 the intake side stud contacts the bottom of the 2.3 oil pump.
Its not much, but enough to keep the 2 mating surfaces from tightening down completely. 5 seconds later with the help of a die grinder it fit fine.
I just thought it was weird as the main studs are the same for the LD9 and the LGO motors.
Anyone else running this setup have an issue?
Here is a picture showing the pump hitting the stud.
"Oil Leak ? What oil Leak ? Oh, Thats Just The Sweat From All The HorsePower!!"
i grinded my studs down to clear the oil pump
You can crack the oil pump housing if you do not...
