And by crazy, I mean you'd be crazy to complain about them.
I did a lot of searching around the forums before I bought my mounts (haven't put in dogbone yet). And I saw a lot of posts saying the vibes are "not that bad". I was concerned (maybe a little too concerned) because I really did NOT want any sort of vibration. In fact, as an example of how anal I am; I bought 4 different sets of springs for my coilover setup trying to find a ride that was smooth enough for my tastes before I just gave up and went back to stock. So needless to say I'm very picky about vibrations and extra noise/hassles.
With all that said. I just thought I'd post to confirm that there is so little vibration with this mount that I would even go as far as to say there is "no vibration". Okay, there is
some vibration, but I would say it's actually on the "desirable" end of things. The most noticable is the vibe that occurs for at most one second when you first hit the gas after coming off the brake. It's kinda cool.
Needless to say, the car also feels a lot more controlled than before.
Thumbs up to TTR.
if u dont want vibration dont buy the other motor mount and two trans mounts cause with all four in place it hold the motor in tight and all the vibration the bushings were taking before you feel it but on the plus side when u hit the gas there is no split second wait to go it just goes unless ur an automatic then of coarse u have to wait for the car to downshift
LOL Nice backwards way of a thread about vibrations
Yeah the TTR Mounts have VERY little if any vibs compared to other mounts on the market. We try to stiffen it up as much as we can, without adding much of any extra vibs.
Thanks for the great review!

Yall definiately did an awesome job on those mount bushings for sure i used some red dykem to coat the housing on the tranny mounts and it looks pretty cool with the red bushing
What about tring the "insert" not sure who makes it but it is just a piece of polyurethane that inserts into the stock mount, I would think that this design would not work as good as a "true" mount and therefore less vibs? either that or try filling a stock mount with something, some DIY guys fill the stock mounts with polyurethane, you could just try using a little bit(not fill in the whole thing) or use something more flexible to fill in a stock mount, let it cure then paint it....
Are you having wheel hop or problems with the stock mounts? Maybe just run aftermarket control arm bushings and leave motor mounts stock?

If your don't like vibes don't put the lower dogbone mount in. I hated it at first but finally got used to it. From the sounds of it you wont like it.
he is saying that the vibs from the ttr upper motor mount isnt as bad as people were saying its just a complement to aaron and the ttr team for there work

Well I got it so I'm going to try it.
It's the oval one. I'll be trying to put it in tomorrow and will post my impressions here.
If it's bad I'll just pick up a stocker and sell this one. Since my factory is worn out.

I'm guessing you didn't actually read my post
There are no vibes. I'm happy with the mount.
My problem was that both the factory mounts were worn out so the engine had a lot of play. It's all good now.
good luck at getting that one on its possible but just a little hint when when u pull the stock dogbone out loosen all the bolts on the motor cradle should be two bolts in front and two in the back if i remember right put the new one in put the rear bolt through then the front bolt dont tighten those at first but tighten the four bolts on the cradle then tighten up those two
loll i did trans lower dog bone and the upper mount all i can say is wow i get very little vibes but i like it. On a side note the car is more responsive and i feel like it puts the power down better hell it just feels like a better car. TR all your mounts are more than i could wish for thank you very much.
see ya!
Got the lower in today (Required the use of a hammer. This mounts fit very, very tight
) and now the vibes are here.
I'm not sure what I think of it. It's a bit annoying when the A/C is on, but with it off it's "not so bad".
Do they break in at all?
My best advice to you is to leave it in there for a few weeks even if the vibes are getting on your nerves. After the mount breaks in a little the vibes die down.
Another thing to keep in mind is that doing all 4 mounts (motor and trans) tends to smooth things out even more. I remember back when PJ did mounts on the Skwirl back when it was still a 2200 and the difference between just having the engine mounts and having all 4 mounts done was enormous as far as vibrations at idle and during acceleration were concerned.

On a side note the vibes on a manual car are not nearly as bad because usually the clutch is pushed in when your on the brake. In an auto when on the brake it used to vibrate my dash so bad there was literally at least and inch of travel you could see as a blur.

this. when i changed my auto's idle to around 900 the vibes were considerably less.
Ya know maybe that's why they aren't so bad anymore...I gave it a second try after I had long since bumped the idle.
yea, hell i put my old prothane engine mounts in my 3100 beretta with auto and its the daily driver. i actually had to cut off about 50% of the front side's poly to get it to fit, too! i definitely noticed some new vibes but nothing i was shaking in my boots over (pun INtended lol) hell the wife never complained about it so its gotta be a-ok, right?! hahaha

i have the dogbone and the ttr upper, auto trans, wicked vibes. its not the worst at idle but right when taking off, real bad at idle with a/c on though, but I dont mind, even my wife has gotten used to it. only thing I had a problem with was the black coating flaking off the upper mount after only a few months, but that was easily fixed with some high heat black paint. i like my mounts from ttr, think they did a great job with them.
black with blue insert, you can actually see it in my sig too
oh yea and i had an insert on my 98 cav, it was a pia to install, took quite a while and sore hands, and didnt make near as much of a difference on my 2200 as the ttr upper mount did on my eco
I have the TTR upper mount and it looks like its backing out and it squeaks. Like really loud squeak
