Both motors are very comparable...

Parts are pretty easy to find for both motors ... (though you have less BS Aftermarket parts to sift through with the 2.4)

Both motors can be built to make power

Both motors share the same 5 speed transmission (with a different bell housing) (this is for 2000+ --- the 1999 and older 2.4s use an Isuzu trans instead of the Getrag F23)

Neither motor is superior to the other...

One motor needs the oil pump swap when built (2.4)... the other needs the block sleeved when built (ECO)...

----------------------------------------

The LD9 comes with about 10 extra WHP...

The Eco is about 50 lbs lighter

-----------------------------------------

If your car is 1999 or older, you will need to rewire the car back to the tail lights as well as replace all of the fuel lines and radiator to swap in an Ecotec... The LD9 will drop right in...

If your car is 2000 or newer, either motor will relatively drop right in, provided you have the correct PCM, Trans, Engine wiring, and Engine accessories...

-----------------------------------------

And for the love of god, THE WORD ECOTEC DOES NOT HAVE AN "H" AT THE END OF IT...
