I was thinking of doing a couple performance mods to my 2000 (11/99) Z24, with (i believe) a Getrag? I'm not sure what years they put them in.
I want to do cams, valves, and valvesprings, but I really don't know what would go well together with my future setup.
I don't want to boost it at all, its just my daily.
The rest, i already know, but if someone has any better suggestions, I'll put everything below.
ARP Head Studs/Bolts
Intake/Exhaust:
65mm Throttle Body
AEM Short Ram
Pacesetter Header
Magnaflow Direct Fit
Megan Racing Cat Back
Transmission:
Ralco RZ Short Shifter
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel
Clutch Masters FX300 Clutch
Phantom Grip Limited Slip Differential
Suspension:
Front & Rear Strut Tower Braces
KYB AGX Front/Rear Shocks
Megan Racing Lowering Springs
Cipher Auto Harness Bar
I was told by a friend that if I want to put in that LSD, I would have to put better gears in, to go with it. Would I actually have to, or would I be alright just putting it in?
The short shifter, lowering springs, and the cat back I already have. Theyre just waiting to go on.
Also, the Prothane motor/trans inserts, and the lower dogbone.
Look at my mod list...
couple things here
-I'd go with a Quaife LSD over the phantom grip
-The fidanza flywheel is a noise maker...
-65mm is overkill for a stock manifold... you need cams, p and p, and high comp pistons to make any power with a bigger intake manifold, and exhaust piping, and even with the HO mani, you'd want to stay around 61/62mm
I like what I see and I see no problems with the 65mm TB. What I dont like are the AGX struts. I had no luck with those, the ride just wouldn't adjust right. I recommend Koni yellows or D-specs. The yellows are the best option though.
What are the big differences between the Quaife and the Phantom? Especially differences in price. I can get the Phantom for 325 from importperformance. I dont really need it, but I would like to have one. Would I need better gears for it?
I was looking at Fidanza and SPEC. So i guess I'm going with the SPEC? lol
How does it handle with the Koni Yellows?

Absoluetly everything.
I did phantom grip earlyer in the year not to pleased good thing i got it used. save your monies phantoms slipfrom time to time, and Im not even boosted yet! Looking at quaife after i boost!
Here is my correction to your list:
ARP Head Studs/Bolts- Dont need for your build.
Intake/Exhaust:
65mm Throttle Body- I would go with a 57-60mm. I found 57mm on a stock manifold worked really well.
AEM Short Ram
Pacesetter Header
Magnaflow Direct Fit
Megan Racing Cat Back
Cams, secret cams, no need for springs and valves.
Transmission:
Ralco RZ Short Shifter
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel- Love it.
Clutch Masters FX300 Clutch
Phantom Grip Limited Slip Differential- Get the TeamGreen LSD. Same design better springs and has great success on here. A True quaife is pricey and hard to come by, for your build a TeamGreen insert would be best.
Suspension:
Front & Rear Strut Tower Braces
KYB AGX Front/Rear Shocks- They are ok, but Koni Yellows are the way to go.
Megan Racing Lowering Springs
Cipher Auto Harness Bar-why?
FU Tuning
I see secret cams alot on here, but I never really bothered to find out what they are. I guess i'll require some information on them lol.
Did you pull the 57mm body from a different car, or are they specifically made? A friend told me he's seen people take ones off of the 5.0 mustangs and drill them out to fit.
Is the Fidanza noisy like Mystic said?
And i was thinking about the clutch last night, and instead of the 300, getting the 100?
And the harness bar I want, because it has racing seats in it when i got it, and i have megan racing harnesses, that i had in my Talon, that i want to put in. Made me actually want to wear my belts.
