im trying to find out what would be easier the 2.2 or the 2.4. i have a 06 cobalt ss/sc the head is shot on it and i have access to a 2.4 im trying to find out what i would need to put the 2.4 in my 06 ss/sc i have access to the whole car that the 2.4 is in. so to make sure we are on the same page will the intake mani, sc, exhaust, mounting in engine bay and what tune would i need to make the 2.4 go into my 06 ss/sc?
Which 2.4? This is a J-body site, not a Cobalt site so we are going to assume that you are talking about the 2.4L LD9 Quad4 that came in Cavaliers/Sunfires. If that is the case, it wont work at all.
But if you are talking about the 2.4L LE5 Ecotec, then it should be a simple swap. Engine, wiring harness, and ECU.
Wouldn't that be a downgrade though no matter which 2.4 it is?

im trying to put the 2.4 in it and swap my sc over to it so it will be upgrading the 2.0 with the 2.4 still supercharged

think he means an LE5 i think he wants to swap his 2.0 out of the cobalt for an LE5 in the cobalt if thats the case then maybe he should ask these questions on a cobalt forum not a cavalier forum

Not to be a dick but your trying to do a motor swap and you dont even no what 2.4L your talking about? If you are swapping a 2.4L ECO into your cobalt. Yes it will bolt in. If you are talking about swapping a 2.4 TWIN CAM then no it wont work and why would you want that motor in the first place. Best thing we can tell you to do it Join Cobaltss.net or post a pic of the 2.4L motor your talking about,
don't thinks hes posting and most people don't know what and LE5 or LD9 are anyway we need more infor on what hes attempting to do insted of guessing
