I @!#$ up my rear axle on saturday and was wondering if anyone could help me get it fixed id really appreciate it cuz i wouldnt be able to afford the body shop prices
what did you @!#$ up and what do you need fixed?
What happened? Did you bend the rear beam axle? i did that in highschool my junior year and i had to replace it. I did it in auto class and parts cost me around 300-350 and a day of work with a buddy.
im not quite sure all firestone said was that my rear axle was damaged
well its hard to help when you have no clue whats wrong. get under there and check
John, like I told ya this morning, it's probably the beam and control arms. Ya side-swipped that curb pretty hard on Saturday. Did ya look at that site I posted earlier? There's none on E-Bay, so don't bother lookin' there.
Car-Parts.com
BTW, when you search Car-Parts, look for "Axle Beam Rear (FWD)" Than it will give you an option of "susp opt FE0 & FE1" and "susp opt FE2" - you'll have to find out from somebody on JBO which you have. My guess would be FE2 since you have a Z.
i might have a rear axle and goin back to the stock suspension from a guy at work since he totaled his car
I want to say there it no differance in rear beams for a a base or a Z because when i put a new one in the cav ( base 01) it was out of a 95sunfire gt and swapped in no problems. there was no changes in design mounting wise and no rear swaybar ever came stock on a jbody that i have seen.
^ If that's so, what do those different suspension options on car-parts mean? Just curious
So what's goin' on with it? Were you able to install that one from your buddies car?
nah found out last nite that he junked it 2 months ago so im just going to buy a new one should cost me just a lil over $300 and paul you can have the old 1 for $100
i believe that the fe0 fe1 and the fe2 were the different suspension and not the axle
