Hey well I've pretty much decided that I'm gonna buy another J, (yeah I know this will be the third @!#$fire!). I'm getting a good amount from the insurance co on my 02 SE, 10 grand to be exact, and I only own 3 on the old one, so that leaves me with a good amount of options. So I pretty much decided to buy a used one this time and pay cash (my last two I bought new) Anyhow I found a 99 sunfire SE for 4,500, 65k on it fully loaded all options and the 2.4 (this is sweet because my last two fires were SE's one with the 2.4 the other with the ECO so they make great sleepers) And the one last this is that it painted in the rare 99 only fern green! So what do ya guys think, it's either that or get a black 04 or 05 loaded fire and finance it (only 36 or less months though).....

But like I said, I don't think it is a '99 only color on any j-body. I used to think it was. I have had my '99 for 7 years and until the last 6 months I thought it was a '99 only color.

The GM Fleet link shows the Fern Green Met. as a valid color for the 2001 Sunfire.
Now that I have that done, I do think the '99 is the best bet in terms of what Jason listed. Hopefully he does find what he wants and does his thing on cleaning and shining it up.
I have never met anyone else that puts that much detail and work into their cars in every nook and cranny possible. Need to get him to clean my car.
Mike I checked my book on the 01 and you are right about the fern green being a color listed but it's not the same color, lol. It's actually it's a light eggshell green color, even rarer then the old fern green, lol good thing cause that color is not good looking. Anyhow I may go look at the car this weekend, to see how the body looks, and if there has ever been any body work done on it or repainting, and to see how the engine sounds/runs.

I'm definately leaning towards getting this car as long as the above mentioned checks out. The idea of having two cars and no car payments sounds kinda nice, and will make it that much easier buying a house here soon. Plus the insurance will be cheaper. The only thing is that I hate to go back to a 2.4 even though I really didn't like the eco much at first in my 02 SE it really grew on me and then there is the after market for it, and it is a smoother running motor, so going back to a 2.4 might be tuff, lol. but oh well maybe next year I'll buy another damn sunfire maybe a black 05 for cheap, lol.

Get a 00+ 2.4 that why you can always go charger route, or atleast get the reflash if you go turbo down the road.
Well Shiot, I looked at the car yesterday and it was in perfect shape, told them I would do 4 grand for it and I would have the money to em friday so I thought it was a done deal. Well they called me today and ended up selling it to a relative in need of a car, shiiit!!! Figures I found a perfect new project car and it slipped through, I should have just gave em a grand yesterday and took the car, and paid the rest this week!!
