In Schaumburg for the week
Sunday, January 22, 2006 4:47 PM
Hey guys. First off, it's @!#$in cold up here!!! I'm from Tampa, so this is a bit of a shock. Snow @!#$in sucks. I'm ready to go home.

I'm up for a business trip for the week. I was wondering if anyone had any reccommendations on places to eat while I am here. I'm staying on American Lane, and am limited to the shuttle that the hotel offers unless someone wants to come pick me up.

but yeah, any ideas?

I can't believe I left 70*+ for this!

Walk? in 30* weather? are you nuts?!?!

ok you guys don't really understand what a shock this is for me! I've been in FL since 1991 or so. The coldest it has been since I've lived there was in the 30's... and I damn sure didn't go walking then!

If this is some of the nicest weather in years, I guess I should be glad I came now. I would hate to hear my ass whine if it was worse!

As for Hooters, it's a thought, but there are Hooter's everywhere. I'd like to try something different since the company is paying out per diem.

When I was up in August, I went to Wildfire, the Ram, California Pizza Kitchen (love them, went about 7 times since August since there's one in Tampa), Bahama Breeze, Champs, PF Changs(only chinese I've ever liked, will do again), Houlihan's, and 2 or 3 other places I can't remember off the top of my head. I am getting lunch all week with the office, so I'm sure I'll hit a few new places (Weber Grill hopefully being one of them), but I still have 4 nights of grubbin I need to fill!

It's Meacham.... geeze even I know that! (j/k... that's where my job's HQ is located).

I was typing my response as you posted... I had Wildfired when I was here before. I would definately do that again if there are no other new places that are recommended.

For this time of the year, the weather here is amazing, lol. For you, this is ridiculously freezing, for us, this is magic, lol

Also Cheesecake Factory is supposed to be good, and Ruby Tuesdays is like right next to it (below it?) too. They're both at the mall. I haven't been to CF myself, but I love RT's.

Thanks guys... I found out that the hotel is giving us free meals here, so I may just pocket the $16 for dinner and eat the free stuff (also get free breakfast, and pocket the $6 alloted for that).
I want to hit up Weber Grill before I go, but so far everything else I have access to in the Tampa area (Cheesecake Factory, Ruby's).

But yeah, my Florida ass is already feeling like @!#$. My throat has been closing up all day so now I'm coughing a lot. I touched some snow last night, probably wont be doing that again. Damn I want my palm trees and humidity back!!
