Sunday, August 17, 2008 7:56 PM
If anyone is up for it, I will be going with my brother, and a few people to Byron Dragway either the 30th or 31st of August. Itll be my second time going to get embarassed. Hopefully I can get a better time with some more practice and a tune.

Just a heads up in case anyone wants to go, its $25 to run all day.

Im not 100% sure of the date yet, Ill post up when Im going for sure within the week.

Let me know what day your going. I'd be down to go with ya. I requested the 31st off and my plans changed but I'm still going to take the day off so I'll bring the silver car for a few runs.

Were you on 72 the other day? I forget where you live, but I saw a silver Cav on the way to the track yesterday morning, I could SWEAR it was you.

Im thinking its going be the 31st, sunday for everyone. Glad to see at least someone is going!

I dont think I was on 72 but I did head down to minooka to visit my mom and do some work on her minivan for her this past weekend. I'M located in westmont, il ......Actually I think only 71 is kinda on the way to my moms...who knows......Hopefully we can get a few more people interested in going along. Are they having an import shootout? or just a t & t.

Its just a few people going for a T&T, nothing special, I just figured id throw it on here to get some from the J-Crowd involved.

And Once again its up in the air between 30th and 31st. Im shooting for the 31st, but my brother is telling me otherwise. I will get to the bottom of it today and post up a for sure date, and approx time Ill be there at.

I'll keep an eye out for the update then.....did you get the turbo going on the ohv yet? oh and when do you want to get the car bufffed out and polished? I haven't forgot that you wanted to get that done.

Im dragging on everything a little bit.

I want to get the turbo and interior finished before I dive into the body. I am going to see next week what the OHV will run n/a and tuned before I toss on the turbo. However I have a terrible crack in the exhaust below the motor that might break off completely. If that goes before the track day, then the turbo goes no, no sense in going to a shop 2 times right? haha

I do want to get the exterior done, but i havent even washed it in like 6 months, beacause the motor has been getting all the attention... you're getting a call when its all said and done/ready... However i dont have youre number anymore since I got a new service and cell myself. Ill have to get that from you again.

Let me know what day and I might roll up in my big rig...heck maybe I'll even toss the DRs in the sleeper and bring them out for someone to use.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

Its for sure the 31st. I believe they open or start at 10am, thats when I plan on being there. It would be awesome if you guys came.

Im trying to get the whole day off so that I can get as many runs in as possible and not have to leave. Otherwise i work at 5pm. I should be able to get the day off.

I would so be on this, but I've got prior plans to go to Indianapolis that weekend.
Aside from that, I blew out my diff and haven't gone up to see Brian to get the one he's got for me yet.

if your looking at 12s at Byron good luck...

Before i turned up the boost my best run at byron was a 14.3. I figured thats where my car should be...

First time out at joilet I ran a 14.0...

Byron doesn't prep like the big tracks do...

P.S. if you do run 12s at byron you have to go to route 66 because you'll do a crap load better there.

I've seen 2 turbo eco's run 12's at byron, one a 12.8, the other a 12.6, neither built or anything at the time, just bolt on the turbo, tune it and run 13psi both guys ran 12's, you must be doing something wrong.

I went 12s at Byron but it is a lot harder there because they aren't as sticky on the line as 66 is. Once your off the line the rest is meaningless to our cars.

Ya its amazing if they throw enought vht down and the track is good... I pulled a 2.098 60' time (on street tires 225/45/17 at great lakes last weekend and it caused me to break out by over .4 seconds and that was after hitting the brakes and slowing down to 80mph hahahahahah!!!! Thats 11mph slower then my passes.
If the track if prepped and you can hook your RT;s drop like no other.
