So I'm selling my cavalier. It comes with an engine but its shot. At least the heads are. I don't want to put any money into it and I'm looking to just sell the chasis for a small down payment on a new car. I'm located in the Oak Lawn, Orland Park area.
The bad:
No engine. I'm not taking the engine out in case someone wants to try to rebuild it. I know the cylinder heads are shot buit not sure about the motor.
There are scratches and dings on the body but nothing major. The only really bad cosmetically part is that the hoods clear coat started coming off. I took pictures of them all. The rear bumber has a decent amount of dimples in it because one drunk night I forgot to put the parking break on and it rolled back into the hood. Nothing to bad just a little cosmetic problem
The Interior is really nice. Only problem is the standered sun damage to the piece all the way up to the windshield. I do have an aftermarket system in it but plan on taking it out unless someone throws like and extra 150-200 in for it. Its an alpine cd player with the full speed ipod control and 6.5 alpine type r speakers in the front and alpine 6x9 type r in the back.
Asking price is $1600 obo first money in hand takes it. Forgot to mention the car has around 75000K on it and its a 5 speed.

This is just stupid that this car hasn't sold, if I had the money I would have been there the first day. Hell I would buy it just to flip it, toss an Eco in and sell for an easy profit. A nice profit at that.
Tell me abou it. I thought 1600 was a great price but guess I was wrong. I mean seriously anyone looking to spend a little on a winter beater this is a great deal.
what is all wrong with the motor? are you unsure or does the head have several cracks in it?

Not a 100 percent sure if the engine is even bad. One day I go to my car and it doesnt start. Had it towed to my mechanics house and he checked it out for a couple days. Said there was something wrong with the timing chain tensioner or something like that. So he took it apart but then said that the whole motor was bad. So I'm not a 100% sure.
lol sounds like you jumped time I would suppose. i would take it to a different mechanic...
