you guys staying dry?
Saturday, September 13, 2008 2:28 PM
They were saying were half way threw the water that's coming, at this point I'm still above water, couple closed down streets in the area and the water retention ponds are overflowing. Justyna has standing water in her basement up to the second step and its rising faster then they can pump it out.

How is everyone else doing against the rain?

By my house in We got water leaking in from the chimney, its in the cabinets and causing the the paint to bubble and peel off the ceiling, they are coming out on tuesday or weds to take a look at it and "repair" their work once again. We had a company come out and repair the fireplace last year and the problem only grew worse since they did their repairs.

I just got up to the girlfriends in Itasca and on the 290-355 ramp I saw a semi spun 180 and jack knifed with tow trucks pulling the trailer up from the enbankment. The street 2blocks away only has a small section in the middle of the road that is not under water. Thorndale has the ditches filled and about 2-4 feet from overflowing onto the roads.......other than that were all ok. I'm just doing homework for school and relaxing......

Well I checked the radio and news stations before heading out to meet up with RKcavy to sell the nitrous stuff.....and traffics chugging along 45-55mph.....then stopped....for 4hours and 25minutes before I could drive 2.5miles to exit and turn around. They closed 94 due to flooding lame.....

yup im in pittsburg kansas and the town doesnt drain very well if any so we have a couple feet of standing water everywhere. It blows becuase i cant drive my car around because it will flood, it does help that my old room mate left his old jeep here and we got it running and went "wheeling" in all the water.

How was the street in front of your place Ryan? I know the back loading dock at my new work was under like 3" of water not too bad compared to what some of you guys were dealing with.

well, i know this is kinda old, but when that rain hit, i was on I90 and Beverly at the chuch there, then i had to drive a 24 Ft straight truck, with a 6 speed and air brakes from there, all the way to Roselle Rd, and Irving Park Rd, and roselle rd was shut off in like 5 places, but luckily i was able to plow through it with the tuck, while cars were not able to make it through. Lol. But me and a buddy of mine went and looked at the Des Plaines River right next to Des Plaines road, and that road was no longer a road, and the water was coming in a block or more onto the side streets so they got it pretty bad too. I live in chicago and other then that one spot where the river flooded over the banks and basically filled the streets and basements, chicago got off VERY easy. Sorry to hear about this guys, hope all is well! Take Care!!!
