hey guys i am looking at removing my froint license plate but had a few questions
in wisconsin you have to have your front plate correct?
if so has anyone ever seen some sort of plate holder for the interior or your car?
or do you think just plane ole suction cups would work out?
thanks guys

i dont have one. havent been bothered yet, but if i get pulled over and the cop is a dick he will probably give me a ticket for not having one. johnny law has seen me plenty of times and no trouble yet.

....you can have it off the front, just carry it in the vehicle, if u get pulled over..its not just for that only...95% of the time...when i got pulled over for other stuff..
he also asked me if i had my plate still and i said yea..had it in my backseat...and he just recommended putting it on...3 diff cops did it.
i'm from wisconsin, and have been pulled over numerous of times ONLY in WI cuz WI COPS ARE DICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...i've never been pulled over in another state besides wisconsin for not havin a plate...if ur worried just wedge it up in ur dash between ur dash and the windshield...
I keep mine in the glove box just in case i cruise over the boarder
law is it has to be on the front of the car. put it in your windshield and it's still technically illegal.
what i'd do is take it off the front and put it in your windshield. if you do get pulled over, say the bracket busted off and you're working on replacing it.

ok thanks guys
thats what i thought it was around here i was looking into putting suction cups to hold it up so its not digging into my dash and to hold it from bouncing around up there.
it just bugs me to look at my car and then see the giant plate holder
thanks again

Yes, its the law to have it displayed on the front of the vehicle. I've been pulled over numerous times and they have been very strict about it. I actually had a fix-it ticket. I had to go to the police station and have them check off that I had it displayed. My roommate actually got a ticket from a state trooper for not having it displayed. No warning, no second chance. Instant ticket. Depends on who pulls you over. I've also been told by two officers that it cannot be in your windshield. It has to physically attached outside the car. Not sure if this is true or not. I just gave up and put it on the front. I was sick of getting pulled over.

probly on the front so they can see it b\c if u think about it...there could be a reflection on your windshield..and they couldn't see it?..i actualy think its from when they shoot you with radar gun also, it only can hit a few spots on the car and bounce back, for them to get a speed shot. my .02$
yeah that could be true abour the radar and with it on the windshield it could be a safety reason
so when joe schmoe in front of you slams on the brakes and you hit yourss it doesnt go flying through somoneoens juggular

You HAVE to have it displayed on the front of the vehicle in WI. I had mine inside on the dash and still got a ticket. State boys are real fawkheads when it comes to front plates. But I still dont have one on the front of my Tibby. I throw it on sometimes when Im oging north of GreenBay cuz there a State dickhead whos pulled me over 4 times up there. City cops dont give a rats azz
city cops have more important things to worry about, like who is knockin over the 711 a few blocks up lol

i havn't had mine on the front of my car for years. just a couple months ago i go pulled over for not having it on. i gave the line about the bracket broke off, i have another one to replace it with, just need to find time to put it on... a couple weeks later, the same cop pulled me over for not having it on, and this time wrote me a ticket cause he had already warned me about it and i said i was gonna put it on. $45 ticket. i still havn't put it on yet, it's not even in my car anymore.
Same law here in Washington. I don't have a front plate for my Fire, wasn't issued one when I got new plates.
I used the line "its a dealer only part and its been on backorder for <insert timeframe here>"
Worked every time
17 stops and counting
thanks rob if i do get stoped im using that line
ha

I just got nabbed a week or so ago for no front plate..... $58 ticket (no points). I havnt had a front plate since I bought the car (6 years ago), and have been warned for it a few times.... I think this was the first ticket.
In the windshield = obstruction of view ticket..... I forget how much it is, but pretty sure its a points assessed ticket.
Also found out that no 3rd brake light is a 3 point ticket...... 6 years later, and I finally get warned for that (I've had 4 state troopers stop me, and never once say anything about the 3rd brake light).
From what I have found, its Illegal to cut the plate, as its still Gov property..... I folded my front one over (top and bottom 3rd) and display just the center section...... it covers the nice dent in my bumper!
If I remember, I'll post a pic later this morning.
