I'm thinking of going to the DMV and ordering custom plates for my car....
I'm wondering how much it usually costs, and if they are good forever and you just have to have up to date tabs on it.... I don't want to spend the money and have to get a new plate a few years down the road.
most states will have you replace the plates after X number of years (in WA its every 7) due to the reflective paint they use no longer being reflective.
Typically, the plate replacement fee is not the full cost.

I had plates on my old cav...
I think they last 7 years and then you have to "renew". I don't recall the costs at all. You still have month/year tabs.

$175 when i got my CANNONF plates about 4 or 5 years ago.
^^^^^ Thats not really that bad I guess.... it says the initial fee is $100, but I'm sure it adds up with taxes, tabs, and other crap on top of that.
As for the plate... If you haven't guessed yet.... I want my screen name on them... hopefully it isn't taken, because If I cant get WEEBEL on the plates.... I'm just not going to do it.
^^^ I thought about that actually..... The email I use has w33b3l in it along with 1 or 2 other user names on the web... I might put that as a secondary option... but I'de rather have all letters....
I'll have to go to the DMV after memorial day.... although my printer just took a crap and it's going to cost the same as the plates... figures.
You might want to get it done soon i was just at the owatonna DMV today to get tabs por my pick-up and they said all prices are going up in august (unless your car is over 10 years old then they will stay at $39.50)

When I put tabs on my bike.... it cost me $13 I wish everything was that cheap.
