found out i gotta bowl a tourny. if a different weekend is planned, i'd be down.
87 Firebird
All stock...........lol.
I'm in for sure, hopefully the car is gonna be done so i can run it at the track.
I'll see if I can get my Cav bolted back together and go....I'll spectate either way....
Project Resurrection is in full swing!
id go if i wasnt in southern IL :/
i'm starting to think i might have to skip the bowling tourny.
87 Firebird
All stock...........lol.
I'll plan on going although I'm not going to race. Thats 130 miles away from me BTW
How close can you get to the strip (how busy are they usually) if your not racing..... I'll bring my camera and take videos.
I get a kick out of the fact they say any motorcycle that runs a 9.999 or faster must fallow NHRA rules...... a bone stock 1000cc sport bike will run that pretty easy. (a R6 should run mid 10's)
I dont like bracket racing though.... I just want to be let loose on a track.
Weebel - You can get as close to the track as you would like, as long as you are behind the wall
By the starting line you can get pretty close, anywhere past there you are about 10 feet away from the track. The grandstands are the usual distance away from any track, its not too bad.
I'm gonna start a list so we can keep this a lil more organized.
1. ihavenolife000
2. blucav (maybe)
3. jon turbo grand am
4. randizzle (maybe)
5. rollie785
6. RyZ96
7. Mythod
8. Weebel
Looks like it may be a decent turnout for us...
OK.... At least I'll know where it is and get a feel for the place ahead of time for when I get my car fixed.
I'm taking it there pretty laid back there?
Safety wise.... my DOT approved Bell full face motorcycle helmet and stock Sunfire seat belts would satisfy there "safety gear" requirements I take it.
Also... anyone have an actual address besides just the town name.... maybee I'm blind but i'm not seeing it....
Anyone want to come and help me put my car together Easter Weekend???? Could always use a hand and there might be some beers in it for ya!!!
Looks like I just may have to go if I can get the supercharger and alcohol injection back together by then. We'll see :-)

If there is any possibility, let me know. It's been a good couple years since I've seen you from when I lived in Wausau. It would be cool to meet up again! If you don't still have my digits, let me know.

Well... I have bad news and sorta good news..... the bad news is that my rear left wheel bearing decided to fall apart on my buick tonight........ So I had to go buy a battery for my sunfire so I can drive it for a few days until I fix the buick...
The sorta good news it that I finally fiqured out what that sound is coming from my car...... it's the throw out bearing..... and since the car needs a new tranny anyway (which was going to get bought this weekend).... I'll just replace it while im in there... but since if I remember right... a wheel bearing for the buick is about $150.... I might have to wait 3 more weeks to get the tranny..... and that only if I can still find one for the price I found this one.
Which remends me..... does anyone remember what size socket you need for the center nut that holds the axle into the hub? Im going to need to know that.
Weebel its a 29mm bolt. Just remember to NOT tighten it on with an impact, just hand crank that bad boy on there then torque it down.
Luke, that would be sweet if you could make it. We live 20 minutes away and haven't met yet, through here or ecscc.

Aren't you Matt Williams? If yes, did you have Marya Wilson for ORG Leadership at Stout last fall??
Thanks Matt....
guess what..... apparently it wasnt my wheel bearing..... my dad was looking at it today and I guess my strut snapped in half where it bolts to the strut mount.... that doesnt happen every day... although he swears the car has drum brakes in the back too so I should probably check it out myself before I get the parts LOL. (The car has 4 wheel disc brakes)
God the Sunfire feels fast as hell after driving the Buick all winter.
About the weekend were going to rock falls...... if for some reason I'm lucky enough to find a good tranny at a salvage yard with the TOB still in it..... that will most likely be the weekend I'll be replacing my tranny.
Sooooo. if anyone wants to stop by thats done this @!#$ before..... I'll make sure to pick up a case of beer or whatever and have it in the garage
Hey josh... if your still reading this thread.... I know you know how to swap a tranny like the back of your hand.... maybee you should come show me that buick of yours and make sure I dont screw anything up LOL.
I'm sure I can handle it (although I'm not 100% on when it's gunna happen yet)...... but it always helps to have someone there thats done it on one of these cars before.. This thing is a bit different than my Sunbird was.
