If you park outside I would recommend locking, with gas prices the way they are. In the winter though I would carry one of those pocket size lock deicers, just incase. My $.02

having a locked gas cap is a bright idea cause you dont want some teen punks putting sugar or coke in your gas tank.

Glad my car is in the garage but sucks for people whos car is outside just waiting to get stealing gas. Do they make locks for your gas tank door?

I have locking gas caps on my car and my truck... I had someone siphon gas from my truck once.
As for the bikes... they lock from the factory.
does it hold up threw the winter like unlocking the lock with the key or is it hard but who will be getting gas out of your car when its -4 out side.
I never have any problems and I never wash that rust bucket of a truck i drive in the winter.
If it gets down to 20 below ill swap them out for stock sometimes as a precaution, but I've never had a problem when I dont.
