Well, I couldn't wait for the CRTC any longer and went and got the tuner for my Sirius ready JVC deck. It's awesome!

Best Buy (in Michigan) wouldn't even let me buy it without a US address. You also have to have a US billing address to subscribe. AND...they want your credit card billing address to match the one you give them. I went ahead and took the chance that they wouldn't cross reference and it worked. It activates instantly.
The other great part is where I mounted the antenna. It has to be mounted on metal, but cannot be mounted below metal or glass. Not to mention, they suggest it to be placed 6" FROM glass. that's why they're always mounted in the center of the roof or trunk. Way too many rules.
Anyway, I got creative and figured fiberglass wouldn't interrup the signal. I pulled off the spoiler and low and behold, it worked. The signal is a full strength at all time. With all the driving I do, it is definitely worth a monthly fee...thumbs up. I love it.
Has anyone else here attempted satellite radio?

Listhen to it on a 3 hour drive and you will notice how many times they l00p the same songs. They used to loop "f fifty" by fat joe on my XM hip hop station @ work 3 times every 2 hours... Other then that ya it kicks ass, the signal only went out when we had heavy rain.

we're in Northern Ontario and have it here...called their 1-800 # and all they asked for was Name, Phone#, credit card #, Make-model-year, and email address. that was it!!

not lying....it was a friend's address. i get there once a year, so it's an alternate home address, right?

I bought mine at Best Buy in NY and they didn't ask for an address, I just came home and activated it online
oh really...
he asked me for it and i said to skip it since i figured it was just like any other store looking for marketing info, but he insisted they had to have it with the satellite hardware. this kid was a dumba55 though. oh well, it's all done.
