LOL, I don't know what it would need for safty, but if I were you I would NOT buy this for a winter beater, it is RWD and has something like 200hp, you will be all over the road.
Pick up an old Blazer or something like that for a winter beater, you will be much happier.

I beat on a older 80's comaro (5.7 i beleive) last winter lol, this won't be much different
, + a car like this would be a really really fun project for next year. + I need decent gas mileage, I drive down to york U from out in orangeville all week. so a inline 80's v6 should get something around 25 to 30mpg which is all i really need.
