Bought a Honda - selling 'fire for CHEAP in GTA.
Friday, January 20, 2006 7:36 PM
Hi all,

I made the switch from my 1995 2.2 sunfire to a 2004 Honda EX V-6 6spd. I'm not gonna compare the cars, the sunfire served me more than well for over 8 years and I have great memories of that car and feel sad having to let it go.

The engine's only got 160k on it, and I'm asking $400.00 o.b.o, but the buyer has to have it towed at their own expense because I don't think it can pass safety in Ontario right now. For the same reason, there cannot be any test drive (not legally anyway... we could take it around the block maybe).

There is a fair amount of rust on it, on the usual areas.

Also, it comes with perfectly good 1996 z24 alloy wheels, K&N filter, Viper alarm (works fine), and an old Kenwood CD player. 6x9's are still ok... front speakers are shot though.

Basically the car is great for parts.

Don't know if I can post this here, but I guess I'll find out in a second.

Please bring all offers, I am motivated to get rid of it.

OH, i almost forgot.

I'll also throw in the RKSPORT cold-air intake S-tube type thing that I took out of it, and the car also has a lower engine mount installed. Rattle's pretty bad though.

I also have TWO, that's right TWO stainless steel magnaflow mufflers and a lot of the piping for the dual exhaust setup for sale as well, I am asking $200.00 o.b.o for the exhaust stuff to get it out of my garage, or offer me a package price for everything if you like.

I paid too much for the magnaflows to throw them in with the car

Hey all,

I would also be interested in some parts.

If this car has power door locks, I'd pay for the driver side door actuator.. mine's shot.

Also, I'd be interested in the rksport s-tube.

well as stated be for i need the interior and teh divers side fender front bumper head lights,
prob both spindles i will take the hood, but dont really need it, if it has power lock you can have them i need the door itself i can use the guts from my old one, the rest of the car is up for grab

Car does not have power anything unfortunately, so can't help with the actuators.

The s-tube is going with the car, cuz I already received some offers for the entire thing so I can't part it out.

Paki, I don't know if you will like the door panels, because they have some oxidation on it. but the interior should be ok.

Hi guy . I was reading the post . Let me know if the car is gone . I am in need of the I.C.M. if you want to sell it . I will be buying one tomorrow Monday or at the latest Tuesday . I Will likely pick one up at the wreckers as I have access to a number of yards in my area BUT If the price is right I will take yours . I have a plain jane '99 2.2 so it should work i would suspect .

Thanks in advance .

I don't know what an I.C.M.is but his is a 95 which is OBD I, your 99 would be OBD II, I have a 97 which I don't need anything off the motor so let me know, you can email me at jus_4_fun69@hotmail.com

Thanks for the input , ironically , i should have known that ! ! Thanks for giving me a heads up on that .

The I.C.M. is the Ignition Control Module that signals the coil packs that is located beneath them . If yuu have a no spark condition and generally it is not any of the obvious components , such as crank sensor or wiring harness shorts in other circuits to voltage or shorts to ground , then almost 8 times out of ten it is the I.C.M. This must be thoroughly grounded . One condition exists that if you have a weak coil or Coils or any secondary ignition components that are high in resistance , it will cause strain on the module , eventually taking the module out even if the coil(s) go before the module is fully baked . It is always a good idea to test the resistance in wires even if they are new and test the resistance of the O.E. coils .. Some brands of plug wires are not as low in their resistance value as others . This is a simple test with a multimeter . Everything on my beater was great . I can only suspect mileage of the vehicle or a possible grounding issue that is not obvious .

Thanks to everyone who offered parts to fix my situation . I have a new ( used ) module now . This forum is great !

Hi all,

Wow, a lot of replies. I was out of the country for the last week so I couldn't really get around to updating on here.

I'm actually not sure if the car is sold or not. I have one person coming to look at the car tomorrow (Sunday)... I think... and he is pretty sure he will purchase it, but to be honest, I think the car is in worse shape than most of you are thinking.

Instead of giving me gaurantees of "I'll buy it right now", please come and at least take a look before making a final offer. Or at least email me for pics. But if you insist on buying it before you look (I know, it's pretty cheap for a working car), then please understand that there are no warranties AT ALL on ANYTHING.

The LAST thing I want to do is have someone buy the car and then kick themselves... I want you to be sure of what you're getting.

email me: sameer_hasan78 at yahoo dot com for pics as well.

BTW, the exhaust is still for sale separately. pics also available.

oh and 224U2LUV, don't knock it until you've driven one of these
