Hello
Id like to warn those living in the Durham region of Toronto to be cautious when dealing with Premiere Auto Salons. This is an all around shop dealing with tinting, windshield repairs, sunroofs, upholstery e.t.c.
Recently I had a break-in which cost me a driver side window for one. This shop installed it and said that my window regulator was badly bent up in the break-in and that they did what they could to straighten it out but I'll have to get a new one. The window had no seal, was letting in water and I was unable to roll it down as it seemed to drop off the track.
I explained the situation to Kevin (Wild Weasel) who decided to take a look for himself. Upon taking off the door cover he saw that one of two points on the window were bolted to the regulator. This caused the irregular behaviour of the window when opening and the lack of water tight seal. There also seemed to be traces of attempts at bending the regulator for reasons unknown.
Once Kevin bolted down the window properly and restored the regulator to its proper form, the window operated like new.
This shop installed the window for me. Why bolt down the front correctly, but not the back? Why ask for a new regulator to be brought to them when the old one was fine.
Just a heads-up
