motor cycle buying help. (ontario)
Friday, March 17, 2006 10:18 PM
I am getting a bike this year and the perfect one for me is for sale right now. Problem is is that I don't have a license nor can I ride. Not to mention temperature.

If I get some one to test it out for me can I buy it and let it sit in the garage for a few months until I can ride? I assume I have to transfer ownership within a week or so but can I do that without getting plates, safety and insurance? Then after taking a riding course I can get insurance and a temp. permit to get the certification done and then plates.

I really want to get a bike now while the prices aren't spring time inflated so I can spend some more cash on gear and lessons. If any one can offer any help that be great.

Thanks,

You can buy the bike and let it sit in your garage or get the ownership changed over as UNPLATED so its in ur name. Then u can go get your m1 and insure it,get it plated and ride.I recomend taking a motorcycle course if u havent ridden b4.

Go write your m1, it's easy if you fail, DON"T ever right a bike. You'll be fine, get some insurance on it "you will have to pay for it all year" no putting it on hold, which really sucks, because you can only ride it for 5 month out of the year. Then you can get a temp plate and safety. I've had my licence for 9 yrs, I just need a new bike, because I sold my old one. What kind of bike are you getting and where are you from?
