Hey Everyone, This is my first post........ so bear with me....... Im having a prblem with my 98 Sunfire DRL's. I was working on the headlights lastnight (installing HID kit and wouldn't work) but my friend took out the DRL relay and when I put it back in and started the car, put it in gear it would start buzzing. when i put my low beams on and then turn them off it stops but no DRL's. I went to the dealrship and they said a shorted wire or something like that and they said to look under the rad support and in the left feander. I dont know how that would all of a sudden happen but they said that it can. Im looking for opinion's on this and anyone who this has happened to I need advice or direction....... Thanks Alex
LOl Alex we tried this last night, stupid HIDs....
don't look under the rad support look at the wiring harness going across the rebar on the front bumper closest to the right side healight there is a splice open up the tape and make sure this wire is not broke or the casing is bubbled if it is replace that wire it is the light blue one then there is a pink for high beams and the other wire is to the bcm.
what is the bcm?...... and i took the right headlight out(passenger side) and there are two blue wires..... thanks alex
No BCM on a pre 2000 i believe
no this issue is not fixed been working alot.... but hope tp do it today or tomarrow and then if nothing i think to the shop...... i dont want to do but it has to be done..... Alex
Just throw the power wire on a switch and the other to the ground. Works fine for me
what ever you do don't have ass things like chris is trying to get you to do there is a corroded wire in that harness i've repaired roughly 25 to 30 of these issues just can't remember wire color unless it was in front of me
