**$3000**
As the title reads. I have a 99 Pontiac Sunfire that has the GM Performance supercharger kit on it. The car has only been running with the supercharger for 20000 km and has 225 000 KM because I drive from Scarborough to Oshawa everyday. Here are a few facts about the vehicle:
The Good:
*Power windows, mirrors, steering, braking, locks, trunk, and roof.
*The oil was changed every 4000-5000 km using AC Delco filters and only Castrol 5W30.
Extra Modifications
* Functional Ram Air Hood inspired by the late Trans Am WS6
* White five spoke 18 inch wheels with 4 new 225/40/R18 Hankook H2 rubber.
Performance
* GM Performance Parts, Eaton M45 Supercharger PT#
* Koni Reds Suspension with Eibach Sportlines and strut bar.
* EBC Pads
* 2.5 inch exhaust with Magnaflow and Borla hardware.
* Innovative Air/Fuel Meter
* Boost Gauge
This car feels amazing to drive. It rides on rails and was personalized for comfort and attention. It shines so bright in the summer and never begs for mercy when you push its limits. I was amazed by the Sunfire GT when I bought it. I have had no problems at all with the engine or tranny. The car does not burn any oil (I never have to fill it in between changes)! Unlike the pre 98 versions, when GM released the 1999 Sunfire they made a few subtle changes that allowed the car to run and function more effcientl. For example, the car has no egr valve, a slightly higher compression, digital odometer.
And last, the supercharger. This was probably one of the best investments I have ever made. I can't lie and say I never got a taste of its power, but the car was never raced on the street (too old for that),and never had a chance to take it to the track. The car is MAN driven; it was warmed up everyday for about 3 min before taking off and polished for hours. I have changed nothing on the vehicle since I got it. Everything is original!
The bad:
* A/C clutch needs to be changed if you use the AC. Estimated cost: $50.00
Here are some pictures. And the video shows the sound of the supercharger, in other words, what you and others will be hearing when you pass down the road.

I apologize for the quality…
And this is how it used to look with white wheels. The rims are black now but these pics are clearer
I'm curious to know--if this became a part out, what components and accompanying dollar value would you folks be prepared to pay. I've listed what I think they are worth....
The following will be up for grabs:
-Supercharger kit (This will include everything that is required to run the supercharger, with the exception of the wideband) $1200 OBO
-Wideband $250 OBO
-Rims $500OBO
-Eibach Sportlines with Koni red's (This does not include the rear struts) $300OBO plus your stock suspension
-Fiberglass hood $500 OBO
-The actual car, striped of it's aftermarket components. $1800 OBO
If we can get enough interest, this will be the route we will take.
Secure your first dibs now!
Wait. Is the hood painted or not?
If you're selling it unpainted that price is far from accurate/fair. It has no eyelids, and no finishing work to a somewhat poor hood... and it sold for $450 brand new 5 years ago.
I could barely get $500 for mine with eyelids and paint.
Good luck with the sale though... I think parting it is your best bet overall.

Chris the hood is not painted i asked that the last time it was upforsale his sig is full of hopes and dreams
Also just to note... you're selling the whole car for $3000 but you want to sell it in parts for what looks to be a total of $4550???
When you mod a car you cannot expect to make 80%+ of the value back on the mods when you sell the car. If anything they are worth less than 40% of what they were worth when purchased. The wideband was $250 ish new, the hood was $450 new 5 years ago, the supercharger kit sold to you for probably no more than $1500... and you've put 2 good years on top of it... on top of the 2 good years Jake got out of it. Modifying a car is a process of losing money. The second you take something out of the box it starts to lose tremendous value. I couldn't even get $300 for my Innovate LC-1/XD-1 sensor/gauge combo with only 10,000 k on it. And mine has the gauge.
I'm NOT trying to rag on you... just trying to nicely say you should consider dropping the prices to something reasonable or you'll be sitting on all those parts for a long time. I won't post up what I think all the parts are worth, as I can understand that you're trying to recoup losses on the sale and this is a for-sale post.
As I said earlier, good luck... a partout is your best bet for recouping any money. To be honest though, the $3000 pricetag is almost on-par for what the car is worth as a whole... so it stands a mild chance of selling.

Wait wait wait. My brother made this post and I think he made it clear that everything was negotiable. He was trying to figure what you guys expect the prices to be. So throw some offers at me and see what happens!
And the hood could be worth more than 500 because its getting rare. But I think 300 is reasonable. If someone really wants something, do not hesitate to call. If im selling the car for 3000 with all the mods, imagine how much im willing to sacrifice.
Good luck everyone, Ive already purchased a new car and so has my brother. All in all, jbody taught us alot and I will keep in touch to see what ideas you guys come up with next. For now ill enjoy the new v8 monster!
Cheers.
oh if you guys are curious. The "turbo brother" moved up to an m3 e46. And for me....its an 01 GT mustang. COMPLETE OPPOSITES!
The price of a hood is worth as much as whoevers willing to pay for it, just cause its rare doesnt mean its worth more. I can get a carbon fiber hood brand new for cheaper then that. Just my 2 cents.
My apologies for the bloated pricing, it seems the resale value has dropped considerably since I left the jbody scene.
Obviously, prices are NEGOTIABLE but we want to recuperate as much of our initial investment (if I can call it that) as possible. I merely stated what I thought would be fair pricing. On the same token, taking the car whole will entitle you to more of a discount then purchasing the individual parts. Common sense, right?
And Chris, thanks for the insight man but with respects to your comment on pricing for the supercharger, you're a little off. The supercharger is being sold as a full kit. This includes two sets of injectors, FMU and boost gauge. Our pricing is a reflection of the original charger, plus the additions that were made.
I also don't know if this was a miscommunication on my bothers part or if people are guessing but the hood IS painted. Although it is not red, it is finished in a white color. I guess this would also reflect our pricing a little.
Listen, I understand that no one wants to pay anymore then they have to for the selected items but we're not trying to rip anyone off. It's great to know that members are looking out for each other--that's how I avoided wasting money, but I feel we're being bashed here and I'm simply trying to clear the smoke. I want people to dictate the prices (as I clearly indicated) and as long as they're reasonable and not ridiculous, we might have a deal. A few post down from this one, Cliff is selling his 2001 charged cavy. Mind you, our car's mileage isn't up to par with his but look at the price difference!? With an engine being no more then $600 at your local scrap yard, why the price gap? Anyway, I'm sure he has his own reasons and I sincerely wish him luck with his sale. I don't want to turn this into something it's not so lets get back to the offers.
Let the man sell things for what he wants....god it never ends here:
"I can get it for $XX.xx"
"You
MUST have paid $xx.xx for it so I
KNOW it's worth $XX.xx"
"If I couldn't sell blah blah for blah blah then you are WAY off selling blah blah for blah blah blah whine..."
God just don't buy it.
Pretty simple eh?
Do
Not
Buy
It
He already stated to you animals the price is negotiable and you STILL rag on him (oh.. but you're not right?)
that supercharger kit - does that have everything needed to run on a 97 2.4???
just curious because i know more components are needed to run on earlier ones
The supercharger kit comes with everything you need to run it on a pre 2000 2.4. My car is a 1999.
I think it might be spoken for. Im letting the supercharger kit go for $1000!
If you're going to facetiously call someone a genius, wouldn't it be better if you actually spelled it properly? Just wondering...
14.330 @ 96.37mph
Charger is still available...have people lost faith in superchargers??? Bolt on my friends, BOLT ON! Okay, new price then (since everyone seems too shy to offer)-->
$800
Hood needs to go to--> $300
Suspension-->$200
Pricing for the items above is firm!
I'm interested in the charger kit but I'd have to know how much shipping would be to my place cause I work construction and don't really have time to drive up there on any given day. If you can find out how much it would be to ship, I'm in. I'm in North Augusta Ontario and my postal code is K0G 1R0
