Well I hope you like hurricanes! At one point or another most of them go through that area. A friend of mine lives/lived on Pennsicola Beach. After the fantastic four of last year she still is not in her house and who knows what happened today. If you want the Gulf Coast go down further but if the east coast doesn't bother you I would suggest more of the St.Augustine area....
My 2,
Chris
You could move down to the Sarasota area....Good beaches there....Plenty of jobs too.....what kind of work were u lookin into???
Car is for Sale!Supercharger kit is for sale!
i'll be in an apartment. i don't know if they hold up better than houses or what. i'd probably head out during the hurricanes with the fire on a trailer unless there are some places to store the car near where i stay

WORD OF ADVICE if you go down there keep an eye on the weather. if you hear any news of a hurricane, it dont matter if it is a week and a half before it makes it to the gulf, fill up your tank and get the @!#$ out of there or you never will. if you dont, be prepared to wait about 2hrs or so for gas if a hurricane is coming in a day or two. i just left pensacola yesterday. what a biotch. cars backed up like a 1/4 mile down the road or more waiting in line for gas. and thats on each side of the gas station. but besides that its nice down there.

so far besides the four last year... central FL is pretty good about the ...caines... there would a pretty good gust here and there.. and quite a bit of rain.. but thats it.....

Yeah central florida is probably the best place to be. Come close to the Orlando area. Close to just about anything in florida.
To tell you the truth. Tallahassee for all the hurricanes was missed all the time we got rain, wind. It is in the panhandle, it is a college town but other than that it is a family place. Cops really don't harrassee you here unless you put your self out there and ask for trouble.
What exactly are you looking for what kind of life style. If you want lots to do Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville. Orlando is central to the whole state. Small town there is Ocala, Tallahassee.
Panama CIty is a kind of a dead town until spring break but not my liking. I was offered jobs there but i will not move there. Knoxville TN is 8hrs from Tallahassee if you are looking for something close.

I'm in Daytona Beach and I like it here for the most part. They're redoing ALL of the f'n roads at the moment so that's kinda gay, but it'll be better in the end. World's most famous beach.......... Spring Break is fun when it comes around and there is always soemthing to do. Lots of old people though, but that makes things quiet. The Orlando area is nice also, but may be a bit more real estate wise.

Tampa is nice --- beaches colleges, ybor city, Busch gardens .........
One thing to note FL is number 4 in the country with the increase in cost of houses.

I live in daytona, and trust me... daytona is really sucking especially lately...
About the housing thing... i know a little about.... the prices for lots and homes are so skyrocketing.. i wont be suprised if real estate will drop drasticaly within the next year, hopefully it will drop... and then to add in the fact that most of Central Florida, i dunno about the other counties, but just the impact fees got incresed by 5 G's last month..!!!!!!

south florida...
even though its far away from tenesse its the best place
hurricanes? i was in FTL and i had 0 damage last season
always job openings around and its not very metropolitan (unless u live downtown) but that sucks lol
If you want the Panhandle go to one of these, Pensacola, Navarre (my current residence), Panama City, or Apalachicola. If not Tampacand that area is pretty happening.
