cool cool! With the 2.4 I urge you to upgrade to the 2.3 oil pump as a FIRST mod (trust me). After that, I say get the basic mods and throw some nitrous on there

O and nothings wrong with an automatic at all bro.........stall converter's eliminate most performance issues with them.....unless you just like to shift?

Whatever!!! That is crap. The stock oil pump is fine if you are on a stock motor. Now if you are going to build a motor that is one thing, but if you are doing bolt ons no need. I would also swap to a manual as well.

YOU BUM lmao!

Nahhh, but I've experienced (not just heard here on JBO) five 2.4's going from rod and main bearing failure which was usually caused from bad lubrication. I personally don't know how Chris drives but the five I've witnessed were all usually driven mildly hard - hard and all had the same exact problems with no mods to mild bolt-ons. Then you can put into account the many issues that have risen on here about the same problems. Most might not think it's neccesary but if you're mechanically inclined it's not something that's hard to do and can save potential headaches in the future. There's no possible way you can say that won't happen to his engine because it hasn't happened to yours and vice versa I can't say it will happen but as a safety percaution that would take a trip to the junkyard and a machinist (Andy might know someone or have the equip) it wouldn't be hard to do at all.

Not arguing or anything but if you have any proof to prove me wrong or show inaccuracy please show me so I can shut my babbling and not look stupid

also, the auto ---> manny is pretty difficut no?

I'm pretty sure Event recommended these guys at one point in life.......

http://www.converter.cc/inventory/GM/general_motors3.htm

They're stalls for the 3800s/c but he or someone mentioned how they still bolt up considering the 3800's have the same bellhousing or tranny as our cars? Sure someone can confirm in the transmission forum.

This post is specifically on topic

This post had alot of good info on why the auto isn't a bad option to keep

Modified Oil pan for the 2.3 oil pump conversion if you ever researched anything on it and attempted to do it.

i f you want a manual, get a manual car. if you get an auto, just get a shift kit. it improves performance and gas miealge, and its easier on the transmission. automakes have soft shifting for passenger comfort only.
