ok this is teh second year i have been upset about how teh show was done this year. i think that it was a little messed up that the judges basicly awarded themselves the trophys. the classes were now set correctly there were cars in mild that that should have been stock and stock cars that should have been mild. i for one think that the last 2 years of judging were not correct. they were extremely 1 sided. i for one do not think its fair teh judges were from ocala jax and tanpa and they were the same people that won. i for one doubt that me nor any of teh people from my area will be attending next year.

I do agree that the people judging should not have cars in the show, it is a conflict of interest. I think that is one thing that should be changed next year. I think we should get someone who knows about cars, but isnt good friends with everyone there.. it was nice meeting you though and I hope you do come out next year!
Wait..what....The Judges had cars in the show?
How @!#$ retarded is that....
I still say the best way is to have everyone vote
yea the judges had thier cars in the show and they won too... im not gonna say that their cars werent nice because most of them were... but i think its a little shady to be a judge and vote your own car... i like the idea of everyone voting
Ok guys I have a few things to say about this. One the classing of the cars was very correct this year over any year in the past. As for the judges having cars in the show that has been the way for 9 years. I do agree that if we could have someone (like a outside group, or car club) come judge for us would be great!!! In the past when we have had someone outside the group come in for judging they bailed on us.This show has always been more about hanging with other J owners than trophy's. If you have been around for a very long time you will know that these same cars have been getting trophy's for many years. Why because they have many years in them and time money. This is a show catered to the J's and put on by the J's. We do agree somethings were not as good as they could have been. You will never make everyone happy. Also if you want to see your judge sheet PM me with your info and I will scann it and email it to you. That is all for now.

i for one think the judges should be rotated every year this council thing s retarded. they should randomly select the judges every year. i do agree that some people who won had nice cars yes you do. but there were cars that won that shouldent have. cars that were stock were wininng over cars in the mild category and cars that deserved to be recognised were neglected. everyone takes pride in tehre cars and the same thing every yeah is a slap in the face and demeaning to everyone

Myself personally I did believe that a few cars were misplaced in the sheer logic of what was going on... but other than that I do not really wanna get into this arguement... I work on my car for the fun of it... and if I get stuff great if I dont then perhaps I was just not understood the way that I would have liked to have been... but I'm not gonna cause a havoc each time I dont win a trophy... heck if I wanted them I'd spend the 10 bucks and buy one myself... lol

Who are you?? So you weren't at the show? have you ever been to it? If not then you do not really know what it is about.
Ok here is my concern. The judges which are in the council were as followed: Donnie AKA BoneDaddy, Blue, Robert, Chris W, Evan, and myself. We have busted our butts getting our cars ready for the show, as well as getting things for the show it's self ready. We were up at 7am to get our cars washed and cleaned for the show. We had to set-up things at the show location (yes not lots of things, but still things to do), as well as set our cars up. We had to class cars, collect money. Also judge cars. I will admit it was not perfect (I will take some blame for that), but we never once got a thank you for the picture of Jesse for everyone to sign (whose idea was this?), or the trophy named after him (whose idea was this?). Instead we have gotten complaints about the show. What most people do not realize is without the small group we have on the couoncil we would not have this show every year.
On a side note we do want feedback, but starting post complaining is not the way to do it.

Mike - after reading this i just want to say "this is uncalled for" you want to voice your point then do it to us after the show or hell if you can do that then email/call me. I am the Orlando rep. for the J's post your voice on here with knowing only half of the side was just wrong. Maybe next year you can meet me personally at 730 am help set up then clear your ride at the same time take car of cars coming in people calling because there lost and then doing Judge for 3 hours. Then to give out products for people there and to come on here and see this! Well i took 3rd mild with my TRD cavalier the only one in the USA and Candan do you see me going off about how it should have been here or judge like this no. Because in the end this is to get the whole JBO scene together once a year and all hang out and learn from each other. Again Mike before you do something like this i think you need to know the whole picture and talk to us or me face to face about the issue you know me and you know i'm open to anything that will help make the 10th year the best one yet.
SHOCKWAVE IS BACK
ok where do i begin......
i will go on record with a few things. First off i was originally apart of this "counsil thing" or i was suppose to be but apparently they felt that i did not need to be bc i was never contacted or asked about anything till after it was all said and done. With that being said what i am about to say is totally not biased toward anyone or any one thing but those of you who have known me for any sort of time know that i will say exactly like i see to say and if you have a problem with it you can call me or pm or whatever i do not hide any contact info from anyone. With that being said i make the best effort i can and be as professional as possible.
#1 ok well my issue was mis-classification of cars. Ok so i got to a extent on how you all did this and thats cool but when Evan is being put in the WIld class and Omar is being put in the unconstruction class ok now that is where i see a issue. Reason being well with omar had a ls sport bumper and different trunk thou black was still only a cavy bumper nothing aftermarket so where can you justify uncontruction.....i understand what underconstruction is but i do not see it in his car. Evan's car was put into wild....... are you serious? i mean ok he is a different shade of purple and a front end swap but wild come on now i mean thats like comparing Batman to my car.... their is no way evan is wild. not a chance.
#2 ok 2nd issue was with the judging. ok i know in the past we have always had issues with this and we try to fix it and all. thats cool and yes i will admit it has gotten alot better every single year and this year was not exception. Higgins came up with a rly nice sheet that broke down alot of categorys and even gave examples of what to look for in said categorys which was cool but my thing was and i mentioned it before was if you are going to be super picky about what you are looking for, what you expect and stuff that can help you is you need to post up a blank score sheet ahead time and say something to the extent of hey look at this to give you a idea of what to do and what we look for so you can be rdy and maybe earn you a few more points---case in point i just happened to look at a score sheet and saw that if you had trophies and you show them with your car you get points. i mean im sure not alot ppl know that those kinda of things help in the long run. also that being super nit-picky about the extent of how clean this and that was. Example i spent at least 6 hours cleaning my car personally i mean engine detail, interior and exterior only to have the comment made at the end of the show that my car was not clean......so my thinking o maybe i should of spent 7 hours instead of 6 or maybe if i had a garage to keep my car in it would look better....do i care about these comments to be honest no but it was not something i thought a counsil member should say and still try to be professional.
#3 and this probably my last one bc it is 1:30 in morn and i am tired. Awards. now the awards themselves looked awesome as they do every year...never had a grip with that ever. But to me once again being as non bias as possible and also knowing most everyone in the crew for as long as i had thought a Red flag was being thrown in my Head when for the last 2 years you see ppl judging getting the biggest awards..... now i know you are going to say well they did not judge their cars blah blah. ok i get that but looking at it as a person from the outside that to me is saying if you judge you will get the biggest award. now personally not winning a award i could care less about bc that is not why i am building the car and the only reason i truely came to the show was to support the JBO scene like i do every=year regardless of whether i enter the car or not i always conribute with out ?.
but like i said before and i will say again if you or anyone who reads this has anything to say to be feel free to call me, Im me or whatever
Phone# 407-973-9249
AOl im = jacool17
thanks and good night
P.S. mike personally called me and was voiceing his opioion and concerns about the show to me and i told him to make this thread bc to be honest not everyone seemed in the mood to say a extra 30 mins or so afterwards...since we were running late anywas so call me out on that if you want or i guess ASK one of the Concil leaders how they want you to voice your opioion

ok i read this and felt the need to comment on it. I as the pres of Team CFJ thanked you for doing it in person when you and Winsel showed it to me and told me of what you had planned. Also just a lil FYI most of time when ppl do something to honor one they have lost they do it as a nice thing not something they expect gradatute for or anything.....
FYI i am getting a few more Signitures for it Picture before i have my dad "who does professional framing on the side" so if you have not signed it and want to give me a holla and we can get this done soon.
FYI X2 im also planning a trip down that way pretty soon to see the Gravestone as his Aunt as emailed both me and kati and let us know its up so if you would like to come with let me know
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
Ok i hope i dont get jumped on for just voicing my opinion on the judging part. Maybe next year yall can get a few actual judges to come judge the show. The way we had our bash is we had a few guys from say san antonio who are actual judges who dont know anyone judge the show.
Everyone has the right to show off their car regardless if they are a judge or not. There is always a way to do things the right way. A good idea was that maybe someone from out of state that no one knows could judge the cars. Hell i wouldnt mind juding or the road trip down there. But knowing me i would want to enter my car lol. Thats just a thought for yalls show next year.
Ok I'm going to clear things up with Jason and being on the council. Jason I PM'D you before you made this post and have not received anything back on this exact matter. Jason was part of the council. The council uses a email list to get info across. People (not just jason, but others) were not responsing to email. I had to contact meny in PM's on the org to get responses. It appeared that after asking each person what email address they wanted used some people changed there email addresses. I have the PM's where I advised Jason to log into yahoo groups and change he is email address because he was one of the guys that did this. He said he did. I also have email where we posted to the list with his name in it asking for feedback, but never got anything. He post twice on that list at the beginning (I have proof). When he would not post, we as a council decided to take him off.
So Jason you saying you were not talked to about this, well the last few months no, because you were removed last year after you would not respond. Since I have already PM'd you my number and advised I will be in Orlando until Thursday please contact me.
Yes everyone is right having outside judges is the best thing. We have tried this many times and it failed!!! I'm still a firm beleiver in this way. Keep in mind that shows like nopi have judges cars in the show as well. This happens at almost every type of car shows except NCCA. Also most every show does not post up your judge sheet before the show, and most are very picky on judging as well. With that being said I still agree on posting the judge sheet ahead of time. There was many cars that could have placed just off some extra cleaning.
Evan's car has custom paint plan and simple, also painted interior parts (as crappy as they are, stereo, performance and suspension mods!! Omar's car was placed in under construction because of the primer on the hood. We decided before this weekend that anything 2 foot by 2 foot or more in primer, was considered under construction.

Sorry forgot to post on this. Jason when Chris and I came up to you it was about Jesse Sunfire coming to the show or not. Then you and I walked to my car to see the picture. I remember you saying cool. If you did say thanks then I'm wrong and sorry. you are correct we did it because we thought it was the right thing to do. The picture was Robert's idea, and the trophy was my idea. Still we are hearing people complaining about this that and the other and not mention of the good things.
One other thing. The judges car winning trophy's. If you look back (and jason you have been here long enough) the judges that won trophy's have been winning trophy's for years, even when we picked 1 person from each city to judge the day of the show. Truly not much has changed in who is winning, just no coins being flipped, or cars being placed in a calss because someone else did not want to be against said car.

If you are going to win a "trophy", then the FL J show is not for you..... The whole purpose of the show is to unit fellow enthusiasts and simply have a great time. Every year, somebody gets ass hurt and posts a complaint on the forums. If you really really want a trophy, then visit this website and buy as many as you want:
http://www.awardsco.com/
Frankly, I think there should be no trophies at the show. Then again, half the people probably wouldn't show up. C'mon guys, get back to the basics and simply ENJOY the company of your fellow JBOD"IERS".

this was my first time coming to the J show. I had lots of fun hanging out with everyone, dont get me wrong. I do not know how things have worked in the past, but as me being there for the first time it did seem kind of weird that the judges were winning, not saying the judges didnt have nice cars, because they did and some of them would have won whether or not they were judges.
One way I think this could have been prevented and it is simple, was have someone who wasnt a judge pass out the trophies, have the judges be out in the crowd with everyone else, this is what i think bothered people, seeing the judge give themself the trophy.
overall i had fun and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
You all want a biased opinion? I wasn't at the show, never HAVE been to the show, and judging by your responses in this thread, I probably never WILL be at the show...
If I go to ANY event where there is a car show, I would expect a professional layout, not something run by your little click FOR your little click. If you care enough about your car show to have trophies created, then care enough to make it legitimate. A judge awarding himself is VERY TACKY. ESPECIALLY when the judges essentially get all the answers to the test before they take it. Of course they will score higher every year.
What you have to remember, as the "council" of this event, you HAVE to listen to this criticism and you HAVE to make adjustments, otherwise the people you are creating this event FOR aren't going to show up. Don't come to this thread and ARGUE with the very people who are SUPPORTING YOUR EVENT by going! You complain about how little POSITIVE feedback you received... but remember it's always the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.
These people use their time and energy on making complaints because they WANT to love the event, and they WANT to see the event grow.
And I guarantee it's better than putting all of your time into this event and having nobody show up, so I advise you make a couple small changes for the masses, rather than jumping in this thread and defending your council, and offending the people who are paying to attend.
