so tonight i was sitting in a parking lot on highway 70 in hickory nc like i usually do. tons of cars show up and its fun to go watch the weekend car mania.
unfortunately i am one of the few who go out strictly to see the cars. many people, i say MANY people street race. i do not partake in street racing because i have had to many friends die ( R.I.P. jon, chance, james.). but it is happening to much in my town.
to continue the story i was sitting in a parking lot watching cars cruise, it was just me and my girlfriend. there was a group of people to my left, i knew they were there, but i wasn't bothering them and they weren't bothering me, so i thought. when i look over and a group of about 13 people was headed my way.
one said "hey what up man" and i put my hand on the ignition fearing they were going to rob me (no i'm not paranoid but this does happen).
when the same one said "ill race you for your rims rich boy, all i got is that little d16 crx"
i said "no thanks man"
he replied "don't you street race"
i said "nah, i keep it at the track"
by this time i had a group of guys at my drivers side window.
he said "you don't have to be a pu$#y"
i replied "im not, but im not going to street race you"
he said "all we have here guys is a mother fu%$in pu$#y"
then they all laughed and walked back to their cars. i proceeded to start my car and go out the exit so that i wouldn't have to drive past the antagonistic as%h$les. but as soon as they saw me start to leave they screamed "get the little fu#%er"
I would not have been that worried, but I don't know what i would do if anything happened to my girlfriend. so i drove my heart out. i got on the phone and called up my friends. said "meet me at walmart i need your help, i got a bunch of people chasing me" so i got there in record time and meet up with my group of friends, who was about 30 strong. when the group caught up to me and saw all of us they ran off.
i just wanted to share this story because its sad how these sorry people who don't have a life and watched to many "fast and furious" movies turn to this dumb obsession. not just that but it also saddens me because why do people form these hates toward others because "I drive a honda, chevy people can die for all i care" or "stupid ricers" or "ld9 is better then eco".
we all have the same passion. no matter what you drive. what engine you have. we are all car guys and need to learn to get along.
why cant there be peace in car culture. why can't you give respect to other peoples modded cars. think about it obviously they like their own car. so don't bash them.

x1,000,000......my neighbor is a HUGE street racer. He's got a car that is too fast for the street IMO. He posts videos of him racing and it just irks me because he's such a nice guy. I just don't understand racing on the street. Granted, we all go through our teenage guy years, but life is too precious to endanger people by racing like that.
i really wish they would build a drag strip near my town. because the closest one is an hour and a half away.
if one was built it would keep a lot of people from street racing. but something needs to be done. its getting bad.

On another note, I agree screw that I don't "technically" race. It pisss me off when those kinda guys come to the crowd and start races then the cops come out and make us ALL leave! ARG

wow, in all my yrs of racing, I've never seen a group of people decend on one person like that, and actually shout "get em!!" when they leave.. sounds like The Warriors or something... and to wanna race you, only packin a D16 is pathetic and stupid...
now, I must admit... I havent actually street raced in about 2 yrs.. yea, I've f*cked with some people on the highway for a minute, but nothing like what everyone gets mad about, i.e., right in the middle of a busy public road. even when I was active every weekend, we never took it to the city.. our "tracks" were roads about 20 minutes outside of town, when there was absolutely no one comin or going... we could go all hrs of the night and never see a "pedestrian" car.. I've never had an issue with something like that, 'cause the only people to get hurt are yourselves.. you wont be draggin anyone down with you

yeah it was really stupid. i had never seen anything like that happen before this. they just had no lives and IMO were pu**ys for picking on one person. they never would act like that unless they had their group with them. and yeah my eco would have killed that d16 crx. i would love to see him at the track, and then see if he still wants to start something.
good thing you met up with your crew.. it sounds like these are the kinda tampons that cause the car accidents you see on the news, and makes the politicians go ape-sh*t over street racing to begin with.... who knows? they coulda involved you in some kinda wreck that might've injured or killed alot of innocent people...

yeah its hard losing a friend to something you are involved in. it makes you realize that street racing is dumb.
and btw my one of my friends had a crowbar when we were standing there.
maybe thats why they got scared off. haha
wow and i thought miami was bad lol.
but really i dont see that much around my area, also that i dont go out much in the night.
i like to race i tell you that, but after being twice in the streets of iraq it feels weird driving here lol.

and it always seem to be the honda and acura dip@!#$s i have issues with as well - they have gone as far as blocking me from taking an exit on the highway - but when i told them to pull over and we'd see who was faster at giving an a$$ beating they hauled...

yeah ive had honda guys block me in but i always seem to dodge em, we have a big problem with them in Poinciana and in the Orland (oveido) area
