So I f*cked up my car tonight....

So yea, I was comin home tonight after droppin off my kid.. I was comin down 326 (you Ocala people know what I'm talkin about), which is more or less a way to cut around Ocala if you're on you're on your way to Daytona or whatever, so there's alot of big rigs on that road, especially where 75 crosses over.
Well I'm cruisin, then all of a sudden, BAM!!! right at the last second, I see something BIG in my lane and had no way of goin around it.. so after I run it over, I get out expecting the worst.. and it might as well had been. the front lip of my LS Sport bumper was ripped clean off and sitting about 50yrds behind me.. the passenger side headlight and corner lens are hanging out on top of the bumper.. and both skirts got f*cked up. one is now sagged and bowed almost to the ground (it was already hangin a lil, but now its ALOT worse) and the other one has a big chunk taken out of it. so I walk back to see what the culprit was, and I'm finding pieces of Pontiac GTO on the ground, so my first reaction was, "great, a poorly cleaned car accident scene"..
but when a GTO pulls up to me and asks if I found any pieces of her car, I knew something else was up. so after helping her pick up her pieces, we walk back to where we both hit said object.. I find my lip spoiler, still in GOOD SHAPE, thank God.. and half her rear bumper as well as all her inner fender linings. so we walk a few more feet, and there it is.. a HUGE piece of tire from a rig.
thats when the EMT pulls up and asks what happened.. we tell him, and to our dismay, he informs us that pretty much, we'll never find the truck 'cause they lose those secondary tires all the time and there were way too many trucks driving around to hunt him down. so I have about $500 worth of damage done to my car, and cant do a damn thing about it...

so sorry Muffin, but you wont want these skirts anymore

The bad thing about that, since it was a still object on the road it is considered a "collision". So it goes against you on your premiums, unlike comprehensive claims. At least it is like that here.

I feel your pain Evan... I think I already showed you what a tire did to mine the other weekend. Tires=evil.

That f**kin sucks dude.
How's the car otherwise? Runs ok?
Guess it's a sign that you need to just put that damn body kit on your car!

yea Micah, I saw your car.. I dunno who's is worse

I already thought of insurance, but payin my deductible isnt worth it.. let alone lettin it go against me on my claims..

my first thought was, thank God I hadnt put the J kit on yet... my second thought was, its time to put the J kit on now so the skirts are more or less goin in the trash, and I'm gonna put the front back together and leave it off. the lip is actually not that bad.. alot of paint was scrapped off, and a small lil piece is kinda gouged.. but thats it really. I'll need to find some clips to snap it back on, but I'll probably just screw them on from the backside.. more relliable anyway. mechanically, its ok.. I think it knocked my heat shield a lil more loose than it already was tho, which is bad with the plastic ECO gas tank.......

unfortunately, this conflicts with my plans.. I didnt wanna put the kit on until it was ready for paint, but I'd rather put it on than put the LS one back on again.. I'm also wantin to test fit my new hood, but I need to notch out the spot where the latch goes so that lil piece that bands down will pop in where it needs to go... hood pins FTW! so if y'all see me tomorrow night, Stacy will not be at her prettiest.. she looks like a victim of spousal abuse

i had no choice in my case.....i thought that was BS how its a collision. I hit a big ass rock in the road and ripped my oil pan to shreds and fried the bearings.....along with splitting the lip on my bumper.

consider yourself lucky......relatively speaking

I hit a piece of tread on the interstate, and it ripped off a piece of my rear bumper a week after I had painted the car. On top of that, it was a piece I hand made, so I was pissed.

Sucks to hear man.... I hate those chunks sitting in the middle of the road. Actually seen a guy hit one the other day on I4.... tore the $hit out of that little kia and flew chunks of tires prolly a good 15 feet into the air.... lets just say I was definately using the strut bars flying back and forth dodging depri.... luckily i was the only one on the road. All I could see was he definately nearly ripped his front off, punctured either his windshield washer resevoir (sp?) or maybe even his oil pan... dunno all I seen was fluid pouring out of the car... Sucks to see that happen to ya Evan.

Side note man, I'm thinkin bout taking off the evo5 skirts I got and just going back to stock exterior for awhile, they need painted obviously and such but if you want em' i have em'.

thanks, but I have the Type J kit sittin in Chris' storage shed, so I think I'm gonna just go ahead and put it on... yea, lucky me.. it didnt do any mechanical damage, so I really do consider it luck, especially how I was able to salvage the lip. I'm gonna take next week to fix it and put it all back together
