Needing help finding a tune shop around here!
Wednesday, January 07, 2009 2:37 AM
Called a few shops to see what they can do to make my car run a little faster, but the shops I called said they don't mess with cavaliers. Anyone know of a good shop that deals with j-body's?

What side of TN are you from?

I know of one tuning shop in the middle TN area. Not sure as to whether or not they deal with j-body's or not, but I can find out.

As shadowfire asked, where in TN you from?

What exactly do you need a tune for?

I was just wanting to see if I could make it run a little faster, and possibly get rid of the speed limiter.

Yea, its not really that fun leaving neon's on the track, then getting passed by them later cause your car wont get past 108. >:o

If you can beat them on the track then why worry about what they can do on the street? Just cause they act like idiots on the street doesn't mean you have to.

lol, that's my point, I can't beat them at the track because they always end up passing me in the long run. (talking about circuit tracks)

Ahh you need to supply details when asking for help on here. What kind of mods do you have now?

If you can't find anywhere in Tenn to get it done,
The closest place I know of is Appalachian Performance in Asheville NC.

Asheville NC is not too far to go to get a good tune. Im willing to travel a bit if I need too. The only mods I have right now are turbo muffler, K&N Intake, and Bosch Platinum IR Fusion Spark Plugs (those things really help too! lol)

Well if you want to contact them,
Call
828-664-9010
Basically everybody there knows all of us at Streetvisions.
We have had club dyno days.
Also, a member of our club (Jbdy04), has had his car tuned with HP tuners there.
From what I can tell he is more then pleased

Yea, thanks. Ill give them a call tomorrow. I went to there site to get directions, its about 4hrs from here. I think it is worth it for a tune. I considered buying a HP Tuner, but i didn't think 600$ was worth it for one tune.

Then you might not want to check to see what having your car tuned professionally will cost you.

once again.
What this guy said......

Expect to pay around 600 for a good tune...
If you know what you are doing, then buying HP tuners will save you a lot of money,
but it's pointless if you are gonna end up blowing the motor because you don't know what you are doing.

If not, then let a tuning shop do it.

With the mods you have, there is no reason to tune it.

As far as the speed limiter goes...thats a touchy subject here. If your not trapping 108 or more in the 1/4 don't bother asking.

Yea, it would prob be best for me to get a tuning shop to do it. I wouldn't know what I was doing if I tried to do it myself. To bad can't find some guy with a HP tuners, Pay him a few hundred bucks, and have that done.
