Additional Phase IV Water Restrictions for Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas Counties

On March 31, 2009, the District Governing Board voted to tighten water restrictions for all of Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties.

Effective Dates
-These restrictions go into effect on April 3, 2009.
-They are scheduled to expire on June 30, 2009.

Car and Pressure Washing
-Residential car washing is now prohibited.
-Charity car washes are now prohibited.
-Commercial car wash operations are allowed. However, cars for sale or lease may not be routinely washed; they may be washed immediately prior to sale or lease.
-Pressure washing conducted by commercial businesses is allowed for certain purposes, which include cleaning to eliminate a safety hazard, preparation for painting or similar activity, maintaining a paint or material warranty, and as needed to meet federal, state or local health and safety standards.

Anyone else having to deal with similar restrictions? Obviously the restrictions go beyond car washing, but I didn't see a need to post the rest.

Pollen Season + Car Wash Ban =

Guess I know what I'm doing Thursday.

I was watchin tv last night, not sure if it was a Clermont or Orlando thing but they knocked the watering days down from 3 days a week to 2.
That is just nuts about those restrictions. And the fines that go along with it are rediculous too!

Rules for watering in Central Florida area
The St. Johns River Water Management District will begin to enforce a twice-a-week schedule that allows lawn sprinkling based on addresses.
If your address is an odd number, water your lawn on Wednesday and Saturday.
If your address is an even number, water your lawn on Thursday and Sunday.
No watering will be allowed between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., a high-evaporation period. The restrictions are in effect for south Orange and Osceola counties Saturday, March 7, 2009, and in all of the Orlando area Sunday, March 8, 2009.

This type of watering is not good for St Augustine grass. It needs at least 3 days a week.
Dont wanna say it, but hurry up hurricane season so this $hit will go away again!

Yea, the fines are just retarded.. I think it's $180 per offense in my area.. not positive on that though. And yea, the lawn restrictions are horrible here too.. once-a-week watering allowed. Just brutal..

That's what I'm saying! Not to mention, I don't want some random dickwad touching my car.. haha. Luckily, we have a few self-service car wash stations around here that are excluded from the ban. Not sure of the cost, but I'm sure with the shape of the economy.. it won't be as cheap as I'd like..

Once-a-month car washes coming up..

theres only one place in my whole area that I can get my car washed at, its a small place a few miles from me its the only one that clears the bottom of my car I hate it though cuz it has no drier!!! So I need to drive to get my car dry and if their cutting grass or doing construction on the pkwy my car is @!#$!!

I dont do those automated ones if i can help it. I stick to do-it-yourselfers and take the extra time to dry it by hand afterwards.
The one in Clermont is usually pretty clean and I do the one over by Casper mostly.

And how the f*** do they expect you to only water your lawn once a week?!?! You might as well not water it at all cuz your just wasting your time at that point.

Yea, exactly. I'm thinking about seeing if I can get one of those 'special' permits.. I always wash my car in my yard.. so technically, I'm watering my lawn..

those automated ones where you drive onto a track, my car is too low to clear those.. I worked at one of those places for 3 yrs, and I've seen some horrid sh*t go down ::shutters::

in that situation, I'd have to hit up a local DIY place and bring my own mitts and whatnot..
