So.....I needed headlights for my 02 and theres almost no aftermarket headlights for it, other than clear or black sides, no projectors or anything like that I found anywhere.......except......ebay. Ok so I know ebay has the stigma that it does but i bought a set of "JDM" black headlights. From payment to arrival was less than a calender week, and they look GREAT. They came with headlight bulbs already so that was nice, but they look nice, Im impressed. Anyone else have these headlights? Weather is not so great but I will post pics asap.
I bought a set of black headlights for my old Cavi that I did a '00+ swap on... they were alright, but not spectacular. I paid $150 and sold them for $75 a couple yrs later, so I guess I made out ok. and for the record, just 'cause they got a black housing, doesnt mean its JDM. if you look at a Toyota Cavalier, they got clear headlights like the rest of us..
for whatever reason, no one produces a '00-'02 headlight with projectors... I dunno why, but its really annoying. you can try Izntrbl if you wanna set with projectors, but I heard his rep has went downhill alot lately

ya i knew that about the toyota cavi's thats why i put the "JDM" in "" idk why they just dont label them black maybe its a JDM gimmick, I dunno. I like the projector look but im cool with the regular look too. I bought the set i got for....176 i think after shipping, and I HAD to have some and factory replacement prices? ya right, no junk yards had any either.

and yea, everyone adds "JDM" as a gimmick 'cause all the ricers flock on it nowadays. I mean, how can you call a part for an AMERICAN car JDM? albeit, they do have Cavaliers in Japan, but they're a very limited run and they were still produced here in the states, not over there. and whats really funny.. apparently, our parts are they're version of JDM. I heard of tuners over in Japan with Toyo Cavi's buying up USDM red/white tails for their cars.. its completely backwards

its not a gimmick, they dont actually mean JDM toyo cavalier they mean jdm as in the black corners, in japan the hondas jdm corners are blacked out, thus being called "JDM" lights, the majority of these companies who sale on ebay do not even know what a toyo cavalier is
so in essence, its a gimmick to market them as JDM when it comes to our cars. and really, I've seen a million j-spec cars (thank you, JDM Addiction.. 2 blocks from my old house.. bringin in cars from Japan all the time) and most of them have normal looking corners, or they're all ambered-out. I've never really seen blacked-out corners on a true imported car

Sorry I shoulve been more specific (JDM Aftermarkets in Japan) are blacked out, factory is full amber
and just like the USDM-spec aftermarkets, you can get them in black here. unfortunately, JDM is nothing more than a ricer gimmick. and 9 times outta 10, the JDM version isnt really any different then the American version. look at the '90-'93 Toyota Celica for example. my sister has a '93, and JDM Addiction had the front clip from a '91 GT4 sittin in the shop. well she came by 'cause I was trying to talk her into buying it and making her car RHD, and in reality, it wasnt that much different. where her turn signals were all amber, the JDM versions are clear with amber reflectors inside. the whole thing with Japanese cars seems to be the amber parts, 'cause its DOT
the exception is Honda. it seems they do all the amber here, but the JDMs get all-clears.. like the tails. and Honda also utilizes "city lights" which dont really seem any different then the DRLs in our cars
