So I put a cd player in my wifes 04 Cav ls , took the factory cd player out of hers and was gonna put it in my 02 cav not ls manual everything. Anyways get all done and it says locked in my car. Any suggestions? solutions? Service guy @ chevy said it knows its in the wrong car and nothing they can do it wont unlock for him......

The radio has a reader in it and once the pcm reads the vin in the radio and it does not match it locks the radio up. you have to take it to gm and get it unlocked.

the bcm is taught the vin when the radio recieves a sig to come on it sends a vin if it doesnt match the bcm it locks, you would have to get the radio programmed at a gm dealer no way around it

ya too big of a deal for me ill just leave it alone til I get a cd player for mine and keep hers for resale value purposes, tx for the info guys.
