1986 Cavalier 2.0 interchange?
Monday, March 29, 2010 3:57 AM
So my cousin built a 1986 cavalier as a racecar and the engine is junk. What would need to be swapped to put a 92-96 2.2 in there? Obviously the fuel system would need swapped as the 86 is carburated, but what else. Mainly worried about the wiring? Or would it just be easier to pull the rollcage and transmission out of the 86 and put them into a newer j-body?

i would just get a 94-97 2.2 block and bolt the 2.0 head and intake on it its got a roller cam and the pistons are dished a little less so u get more compression Ive done this a few times on some race cars works pretty good make sure you use 2.2 pushrods....
