tempting... very tempting. I want a hatch anyways, lol.

Brings back fond memories. Had a white '83 or '84 Pontiac hatch - back in '91. White & blue interior too. Seat was busted way back on that one too, now I know the seat brackets are a high fail item, but back then I had no clue why I made a turn & the seat came up on one corner. Had the 5 spd. w/ 1.8 & got super gas mileage - open road was like 45 mpg, but the engine drove me nuts...I couldn't drive 55mph. It would sag and go 50 , then surge and jump up to 60.....back and forth over the miles it drove me nuts...LOL.
Sighs....sorry. I sure do like this one, the Firenzas and Skyhawks seem to be the more rarer ones to find. I sure do hope she finds a wonderful home!! :-) If I lived there I'd just BIN and go get it!!
I swiped the picts - here if ya want to copy them, once those auctions end the picts are gone too:

I've never seen one before. I wouldn't mind one and swap an mp62'd eco and 5 speed for a cool dd

try 3800 with single turbo....
Damn,...in a first gen you'd probably make it stand on it's plastic nose with that iron up front!!!! :-) Think of it though.. 2350 pounds plus the weight of the swap, some suspension upgrades...sheeeeeeeeeettttt. Quarter in the low 15s maybe?
I think the 45 mpg will be in neutral going dowhill, with a tailwind though.
I had an '85 Sunbird S/E (1.8 turbo) hatch w/ the 3 speed auto, and even with my young lead foot it got 24/33 city/interstate..when everything was working.

But I wouldn't have a 3800 laying around....I currently got a full mp62 and eco harness, and in like 2 months I'll have swapped my motor so I'd have a spare eco laying around. Now if were going that route, I've always wanted a 3400 turbo, just need the ohv 5 speed.
No matter what is decided, it iappears to be a very nice platform to start with. My convertible was not in this good of shape when I started...
